Has anyone been to both? Which did you like better? I'm not a gambler, though I do enjoy the slot machines (I'm a little old lady in the body of a 20something, what can I say?

) I'm thinking about taking either a day trip or an overnighter to one of these casinos in the not too distant future with my mother. Is one of them better for wheelchair access? Any thoughts?
Too funny...I was actually at both today! Now, let me add that I am NOT a gambler and have been to each of them only a couple of times before. Today I took DS to the Pequot Museum at Foxwoods and then DH and I headed to Mohegan Sun for dinner at a Mexican place that just opened. Too ironic that you asked your question today.
Anyway, I prefer the outside of Foxwoods and the inside of Mohegan Sun. Foxwoods is located in the woods and the architecture is much more to my liking, but the inside is a bit too neon and bright for me. Mohegan Sun has a very futuristic look to its architecture, but is sort of like a Wilderness Lodge version of a casino inside...lots of wood, rock, water and warm colors.
There are many, many restaurants at each but I would guess there are more stores at Foxwoods. As for wheelchairs, I'd have to go with Mohegan Sun. It is smaller and less spread out. There are two main casino areas connected by a Downtown Disney type area filled with shops and restaurants.
We ate at Soltoro tonight and it was amazing. If you like Mexican it is definitely worth a stop. You can visit
www.foxwoods.com and
www.mohegansun.com to see lists of other restaurants and the shops at each. Also, each place has a show venue so you might want to check what/who is appearing in case there is someone you like. That might sway you one way or the other. Foxwoods' theater is more like a typical theater setup while Mohegan Sun has a sports arena set-up plus a traditional theater.
Have fun, whichever one you go to. Oh...and keep in mind that they are only about 20 minutes apart so you could go to both if you'd like.
