As soon as I think I have figured out which WDW Resort to pick - I find some reason to doubt my decision. I think I have it narrowed down to the moderates. Our girls will be 6 and 3 next fall when we hope to go for our first trip to WDW. We'll probably go in Sept if they offer free DDP again. We intend to head back to the hotel in the afternoon for naps and pool time. So...we want a resort with a good little kid pool and playground, good restaurants, short trips/empty buses :rotfl2: , and the funnest environment. I know everyone has different preferences, but if you wouldn't mind sharing which you would recommend and why, I'd sure appreciate it!

:worried:

CSR has a great main pool area that includes a hot tub, arcade, playground, awesome pool (also a small kiddie pool), the best slide and a sand volleyball court. CSR offers terrific non shared transportation and fantastic food options too.

I would recommend POR (surprise, surprise :) )

Per your requirements, POR has a CS and a TS restaurant, and the TS restaurant is the only other place besides the Poly where you can get banana stuffed French toast. It's yummy! POR also has a water taxi that goes to DTD, and DTD has all of those good restaurants and great shopping!

The buses are good, and in heavy traffic times they make sure that you are picked up /dropped off in a timely fashion. I only had to wait over 15 minutes once, and that was after MK closed one night. We didn't go to POFQ to pick up or drop off while I was there, so I have yet to experience that for myself.

In addition, POR's sister resort, POFQ is right up the walkway by the river, and the two resorts share amenities. So if you want to, you can use either main pool. The POFQ has a really good theme for young ones with its large "dragon" slide.

Have fun making your decision! :goodvibes

CSR would be my choice. I've tried POR, POFQ and CSR and CSR wins hands down.

CSR is our choice. Great landscaping, great scenery, walking paths, pools--both main and quiet pools, volleyball court, playground, arcade, large gift shop, great food court, etc.

Well, I have to make a 2nd vote for POR. We give it :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
We also enjoyed the walking path from our bldg in the Bayou section to the main pool (Old Man's Island) area and food court. The choices in the food court were good - as most are. The pool accomodates a large number of people quite well and the kids had a blast playing in/around it! The hot tub was nice for me!!! :goodvibes

We also enjoyed hanging out in the lobby/lounge area and listening to Bob Jackson! The kids had a BLAST with him the night we were there! We are looking forward to hanging out there again in a few weeks!!!:cool1:

Just our 2 cents worth .... :cutie:

The only mod we've stayed at is POR and our family really didn't enjoy it. It was definitely a beautiful resort, but not "Disney" enough for us. My bigger kids (8, 6) really missed the crazy, over the top Disney touches. It felt like we could have been in a nice resort anywhere and we really like to feel like we're at Disney when we're there :)

We did visit POFQ and much preferred it to POR. The kids loved all the crazy statues, the pool and the bright colors everywhere. We all loved the food court which was bright, cheerful and fun and served absolutely delicious beignets :thumbsup2 .

We're headed back this year and are getting 2 rooms at POP. It's a bit more expensive, but we just love the huge tacky icons that let us know we're at Disney every time we open our eyes :dance3:

We didn't check out the playground at POFQ, but we did try the one at POR and while our 2 year old enjoyed it, we only went 1 time - there was just so much else to do!

HTH - I know you'll have a great trip no matter which resort you choose!

I prefer Coronado Springs. My kids loved to play on at the playground and it made it easy for us to sit by the pool since the playground is in the same area as the pool. You also can get good snacks and food at the snack bar. We didn't use it but there was an arcade there as well.

for your age children - POFQ - it is the smallest of the moderates - but it has the best pool for that age group.

now CSR has one for older kids.

that say if your kids go on slides at other water parks - then CSR might be a better fit.

but if this is their first slide would go with POFQ.

the only problem this resort does not have it own restuarant, food court yes, restuarant no. It shares with POR - which is only a short walk away.

that say would still go with POFQ because of that pool for your little ones.

Well our favorite Mod is CBR. The first time we stayed there our boys were 2 & 4, they totally loved the pool (which they are currently refurbing right now:cool1: ) We have stayed there a few times and we love just love it. Never waited long for buses on our trips and we really enjoyed the food court, bar and the pool. Can't wait to stay there again:thumbsup2

CBR is excellent. They have a little playground in the middle of the lagoon with piped in Caribbean themed music. They have individual pools for each resort. It was great...1st time we stayed my boys were 9 and 7. We took my niece and nephew when they were 5 and 3...they loved it as well.

Vote for POFQ. The pool theme is excellent and really cool for little ones. It's also small so its very walkable & the food court has delicious food. Especially the beignets (warm & yummy) :lovestruc

Honestly, I think your kids would like any of them. They all have great pools with cool slides and other water features, good playgrounds and beautiful theming. Especially since they've never been to any of them - they certainly won't have anything to compare. I've stayed at all but POFQ and my 2 favorites are CSR & POR. I think the reason I didn't like CBR as much is I didn't like their food court, and you can't see the whole pool without getting up and walking around the castle. That might change with the refurb - but my nieces were young and I couldn't just sit by the side of the pool and keep my eye on them without walking back and forth!

Anyway - I think you should pick the themeing that appeals to YOU - if Mama's happy - everyone's happy!:rotfl:

I love that advice. CSR really appeals to me...looks so much like the Yucatan from the pics I've seen. Then I've read other posts recommending the Disney look that appeals to kids...but those just don't appeal to me as much...

CBR!!! My girls (5 & 7) LOVE the 9 pools and all the playgrounds (there are a few) and we use every one each time we go. They love seeing the turtles, bunnies, birds, etc. They love going across the island to the food court. They have a hair wrapping station (near food court/main pool) and both girls have had their hair done though it is a bit pricey. On the beaches there are hammocks, very tropical and there is music piped in. Also, they now have the Island of the Caribbean Pirate Adventure so I can't wait to return (Oct) to see them hunt for treasure. It's just so beautiful! Plus when I go to a warm climate for vacation, I want to feel like I'm on an island. I find it very peaceful!

CSR! Everything is perfect, the pool, transportation, food, atmosphere and cm's.

My DD and DS were 8 & 3 on our last visit and we loved CBR! While I have never stayed at CSR friends and family have mentioned that as long as there are no major conventions it very nice. We visited POR/POFQ and like the previous poster reported it just didn't feel as Disneylike as the others. Check the renovation schedule for the pool at CBR and/or the conventions schedule at CSR before you choose. You'll have a great time anywhere...its WDW!:cool1:

My kids were 3 & 4 the last time we were at CSR and loved it.

We are returning in August and they are thrilled!
