So with the possibility of pool renovations at WL we are now considering a combo if Por and a few free nights at swan with points. DD will be 3. Has the Murphy bed been a hit with toddlers? Also CSR business class looks appealing with the daily snacks but I'm not a fan of the desert theme. Thoughts?

I haven't stayed at POR, but liked both POFQ and CSR. I think I would prefer POFQ since it's smaller and easier to navigate around with a toddler.

Not sure how big your party is, but you are not guaranteed a murphy bed at POR. Those are only in the AB section and in general are reserved for parties of five. If you booked a preferred room then you would get one (all preferred are AB).

There are pool renovations going on at WL? When do they expect to be done with them? Thanks!

We have stayed at both WL and CSR and we prefer CSR. The pool at CSR is just as good as the one at WL. The slide is very cool and the sand playground is MUCH cooler for kids than the one at WL. We were upgraded to a preferred room our first time at CSR (I think all business class are in these buildings) and we only stay that way now. Still cheaper than WL. There are no Murphy beds at CSR but there is room if you need to bring along a toddler bed, but they only sleep 4, so that might not work for you. If is very nice having the boat to MK, but bus service is much better at CSR.
Also remember that January is very iffy for swimming. There are some warm days, but also some very cold times and even with heated pools, it's just might not work with small kids. The last trip we took to CSR it was in the 20's one morning when we headed to the parks and there was this man in the pool! Soooooo.....it might work for you!

We went the month before my DD turned 3 and she loved loved loved the Murphy bed! She thought it was so "cool"! LOL! We always pay for preferred location (AB) when we stay at POR . It is a great resort! In fact we gave the kids a choice of any resort on property for this upcoming trip and both said POR!

I know you didn't ask, but we loved Caribbean Beach with our toddler. The pool and little kid splash are there are fantastic.
ETA: As far as I know CB has the only zero entry pool in a moderate. And that makes a huge difference to me, when kids are still little.

We got a POR alligator bayou room when we went in February (with just our older two, 7 and 9 a year olds at the time), a pp brings up a good point. If you go at a busy time these rooms are given to families of 5 first, so unless you book preferred you are taking a chance. My daughters *loved* the murphy bed though, we had them switch each night so they each got a turn. We just really liked that resort, the boat ride to downtown disney was a neat little extra and my girls loved seeing the carriage rides each night (one regret I had is we just never had time to do one ourselves), YeeHaw Bob is at POR, the pool was really fun, and the food in the food court was really fabulous (and large, sharable portions!). They have the nightly movie and campfire (not sure if all the others do both). It was just a very fun resort, I hope that at some point in the future we can go back.

I agree with this 100%. It is my boys favorite pool area on property by far. Just my opinion, my boys did not like the pool at csr. They were 3. It's deep, it was the coldest water I have encountered on wdw property (in June), the slide is enclosed, long, and quick, and the toddler play area is pitiful. We liked CSR and will stay there again but not until our boys are older. IMO the feature pool at POR is better for younger kids.

We are goingin April. Por preferred bayou sou DS like a good alternative. Can you sit outside. The room while the kid sleeps? The balconies at WL were a perk we liked.

Many people pull chairs out to sit outside but you will be in a walk way. So you may have to move when people are trying to get to and from the rooms. Also have to be careful with how loud you are since you are right outside other people's rooms.
