Modifying Resort Reservation

We booked our reservation for BC for December 1st - 9th back in May, but didn’t decide to purchase APs (again) until October. Obviously I missed out on the AP discount, but through my obsessive Disney stalking I found a Water View CL room at the YC for Dec 1st - 4th (for close to $100 less than what we paid for Water View not club level at BC). I’ve been checking every 10 minutes or so looking for something to open for Dec 4th - 9th at YC or BC, but no luck so far.

Long story short.. can I modify our existing BC reservation from Dec 1st - 9th to Dec 4th - 9th? I thought I read somewhere where they aren’t allowing you to simply drop days now, that it has to be booked as a “new” reservation.

I would call, but I work customer service so I have to be able to answer the phone. Wanted to check here before I waste a bunch of time after work tonight. And of course the “change reservation” button on MDE doesn’t work.

Thanks!

I haven't had luck modifying a reservation online for months, I used to be able to all the time. It is technically Disney's policy to drop days, but if you call they will be able to help you modify your reservation to the new dates you need. As for another room opening up, just keep checking. People cancel all the time, sometimes viewing in incognito browsing will help show something new.

You're already inside of the 5-day cancellation period for room-only reservations. I don't know if there would be a change fee involved at this point. The only way to find out would be to call.

I would book the 1 - 4 now. Then try changing the reservation from the 1-9 online. If that doesn't work, call CRO and try to get them to change the reservation to the 4-9 for you. Worst case scenario, you have to cancel the 1-4 again. However, if you can't change the 1-9 yourself, CRO sometimes will do so by involving Guest services. It is worth a shot.

Good luck!
