Modifying Guest Number on ADR

We had some changes in our plans due to life circumstances. Some of the ADRs are losing a guest or 2. Can I just modify this when we show up to check in? We are going from a party of 8 to a party of 7or 6 for some reservations and a party of 6 to a party of 5 in others. I have no problem calling to modify...just am running around finishing the packing as we leave at 7pm! They are nothing that I needed to prepay for either.

Can I modify when I check in tomorrow??

As long as there is no prepay meals, reducing the number upon checking in is fine.

Infact that is how I would do it.

To modify it now, you would have to cancel the adr and rebook it under the correct number. And the chances of you getting what you want...slim.

So don't worry about showing up 1 or 2 short to your meals. Just inform the host/hostess that these people will not be joining you.

I would just adjust the number at check in. Some times the resturant try to sit 5 people at a table that accomadates only 4 or 7 people that will only sit 6 people. This way, you have room to get in & out of the table & for all the serving plates. Last year we had this happen at 2 places when we had 7 adult. Who wants to sit straddling the leg of the table!

We have showed up with less - no problems at all. We actually have showed up with more, but we try to go to the restaurant when it opens to make sure it is okay. We have never had a problem and everyone has always been really nice about it.

It's always easier for the restaurant to handle a couple fewer people than a couple more.

If you have any ADRs that you put a CC down for (either pre-paid or CC holds) you will want to get those adjusted though, as you will likely be charged fees for those that didn't show up.
