Modifying Alamo Res

When I checked the Alamo site tonight I found that they had lowered the minivan rate for Nov from $214/wk to $179./wk . When I tried to modify my reserv. I couldn't get the new rate. Does Alamo not allow you to get a better rate or was I just not doing something right??
Anyway I cancelled that resv. and made a new one and saved $72. About half hour late I checked again and the rates had gone up to more than my original resv.
I guess my question is: If the rates go lower than what I have now is there a way to just change my existing resv. to get the lower rates ? I must have been missing something. Last year when I used Budget I did that right up until the day before I left.

I ahve always booked the cheaper new rate first and then cancelled my prior one just to be on the safe side. Have a great trip!

I believe you may have to cancel the existing ressie and make an new one. I had to do that myself.

I tried making a new res before I cancelled my old one but when I put my name in it took me to my original res. So I ended up cancelling first then rebooking.

You need to delete the Rate/Product Code to see the new price. In the past I've created a new reservation and deleted the old one, until I learned the trick.
