Modern Family Fans

I am watching it now and had to laugh at the joke about the "large" people using the ECV's.

Although it's pretty obvious Modern Family itself is an adult comedy, I guess it was kind of their bad to do that kind of a preview on a show that kids would watch! :(

In all presidential modesty, I finally got my due respect tonight. :)

Families, tell your kids: We are NOT going home until we see Robot Lincoln.

From @TheDisneyBlog:

"ABC's Modern Family runs the 'Disneyland' episode [tonight]
Learn why parental guidance may be warranted"

Just wanted to share. :earsboy:

Uh, had that person WATCHED MF before? Not exactly Wonderful World of Disney fare here which is why it airs at 9 pm. It's never been on my "family entertainment" list but rather on the "save for DH and me time" list.

in all fairness...the blogger did say they showed a "clip" of modern family on Americas Funniest Home Video...so they werent actually watching the show with their son...if i didnt know that was going to come on or that they would show the clip of dylan in the suit and I hadnt told my child they werent real then I might be mad too...so yeah its kind of stupid but at the same time I get her drift

yes it was funny but oh so very true lol...and they ran straight to get a turkey leg even before going to IJ...and what did they talk about?? churros, the notorious corn dog etc.... lol

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this!

I thought the episode was great! Obviously some Disney fans who are on the writing staff ... the ill-advised shoes, being judged for a child on a "leesh," motion sickness ... seriously, how many times have these topics been brought up on these boards?!

I think they really caputured some of the details about a Disney trip.

Quick question - I was surprised to see Little John and Robin Hood out as characters ... are they really out and about, or were these characters they brought out of the storage room just for this episode? (please tell me they are really there!!!)

I enjoy watching Modern Family, but I felt the ABC/Disneyland tie-in was a bit forced, and at times downright uncomfortable to watch.

Its hard to believe this episode was taped on 2/29/12. Reportedly one of Disneyland’s busiest days on record; but the park looked empty.

It's hard to believe anyone was stupid enough to schedule taping on 3/29. The park looked empty because the hordes of paying customers were packed in like sardines elsewhere.

DS and I watched it and couldn't stop pointing out the glaring oops (or oppses), LOL. We noticed the fake wait time sign right away, and the fact that they were using the fastpass line for IJ. Also that the people were coming out of the entrance queue for Splash. We definitely thought it the use of balloons in the hub scene was overkill and there was no way that kid could make it to Main Street and wait in the corn dog line in the amount of time shown :rotfl2:

But the best part of all was that DS and I were sitting in our PJs with our feet up wearing our huge Mickey plush slippers. When Jay pulled out those Minnie slippers for Gloria we both busted out laughing.
Side note, I tried on the Minnie slippers and they are not nearly as comfy as the Mickey ones.

I was surprised to hear the joke about the scooters and weight. That seems like a very taboo subject for ABC/Disney to throw in there, especially considering that just about every scene had them eating some kind of Disney snack. But then I guess the whole leash subject is a pretty touchy one also.

To answer the questions about the characters, I have seen them once before but it was probably during a special event (thinking maybe it was a Halloween Party). But I have never seen them on a regular operating day.

Loved this episode and how they nailed all the stereotypes! As for Little John, I'm guessing they chose him because he is one of the least visible characters in DL... Image if they had one of the more popular characters like Mickey, or Pooh or Goofy getting knocked to the ground? Little kids would probably remember that... No one will remember Little John... Most people don't even know his name!

We were looking forward to this episode, but we had a blackout in our area due to storms and missed it. And our cable company doesn't have this series available On Demand, either.

Maybe we'll catch it as a rerun later on.

I have caught the show here and there, but never really planned on watching it until last night. It was great!

The whole day wasn't busy. The people that waited outside at night, came in and the park was very quiet. This is when they did most of the filming.

At night the day was very busy, after they finished filiming in the outdoor areas.

They are quite rare to see in the parks.

A few of my comments.

One thing I liked was how empty Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln was, as it usually is.

That the dad got cotton candy, an untypical treat in DLR, though is available.

As a person with much DLR experience, all of the CMs in the background doing crowd control for the shooting are quite noticeable.

All the fans in the back of the scenes taking video and pictures.

Very tiny detail, Dylan the old boyfriend is a CM and walking in on the left side of Town Square. The CM gates are on the right so he should of been coming in the other side from Harbor.

I haven't seen the Dapper Dans on thier bike in a long time, and they weren't riding on the sidewalk when I did.

What kind of touring pros sit around home eating a big breakfast, and leave the park before night too?
