I have some questions about moderate resorts and buses. I know these have been answered before. It is too hard to look these up individually on my tablet, so I am going to ask for replies here. I am not being lazy, but I have physical limitations. I apologize to those that are inconvenienced by repeat questions.

Caribbean Beach
How many stops on property?
Do they share buses with any other resorts?
The aerial view looks like it is pretty spread-out. What would I request for close to the lobby?

Riverside
Only one stop on property, correct?
Do they share buses with any other resorts?
Does the boat only go to Downtown Disney?

French Quarter
This appears to be the smallest moderate.
Do they share buses with any other resorts?

Coronado Springs
How many stops on property?
Which bus stop is the first?
Does the driver pick up and drop off first at the same stop each time?
Do they share buses with any other resorts?
The aerial view looks like it is pretty spread-out. What would I request for close to the lobby/El Centro?

How far from the rooms to the bus?
Does this resort have a lobby with a shop, food, etc like other resorts?

CBR has 7 stops. Typically a bus doesn't go to all of the stops, but sometimes it does happen. The resort is big and if you want to be close to the lobby pay for a Preferred room.

Riverside has 4 stops. Sometimes it does share with French Quarter, which has 1 stop, but not very often. Both have the boat to get to Disney Springs, aka Downtown Disney.

CSR hs 4 stops. Typically the first stop picked up is stop #2, which is behind the Casitas buildings. CSR never shares a bus with another resort.

I can't help you out with the Cabins, except to say that usually there is a transfer from one bus to another required.

When I stayed in the cabins, I requested to be close transportation. I was near the front of the loop where there was a bus stop. If you aren’t, it can be a bit of a walk between cabin and bus. That is why some people rent golf carts.

6 total. But for any given bus it will either 2 or 4. For example they will send 2 buses for a park at once. One will stop at Martinique, OPR, Trinidad North and Trinidad South. The other will stop at Jamaica and Aruba.

Do they share buses with any other resorts?

Nope.

Preferred Rooms arevery close. For Standard rooms Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51 are also very close, just a short stroll across the bridge.

Do they share buses with any other resorts? We have experienced sharing with wilderness lodge for epcot only. I think just mid day when it's not so busy going to and from the parks. There is the boat to take to the MK.

How far from the rooms to the bus? Depends on where you are. Some of the cabin loops are fairly close to the outpost bus depot to go to the parks. The cabins are the farthest from the boat dock for MK.

Does this resort have a lobby with a shop, food, etc like other resorts? There are 2 trading post stores with groceries, souvenirs, camping supplies, etc. One is centrally located in the campground by the main pool and the other is at the settlement area near the boat dock. There is a building near the front that houses the check in desk.

Can't speak for the other resorts, but when I was last in the World (it's been 17 years so take this information for what it's worth), POFQ did share with Riverside, but it received the buses first. Now, if memory serves correctly, there were times it didn't share, but I don't remember what those times were...it's been too long. Hope that helped.

just back from coronado springs. we stayed in casitas near bus stop #2 which is the FIRST to be picked up and the FIRST to be dropped off. the stop labeled #1 is at el centro and that is actually the LAST to be picked up and dropped off. i think there are 4 stops but not entirely sure on that. the buses are not shared with any other resort. they do have the screens to tell you how long the wait is but we had issues where it just kept showing "every 20 minutes" for a bus that took 50 minutes to arrive. this caused a huge amount of stress for us getting to a dinner reservation. the closest to el centro is probably cabanas which we used to love but i would not choose to stay there now. it is directly next to the huge construction site. i would rather stay in casitas as we did. you are still not that far from el centro, just on the other side of the convention. also casitas has a nice quiet pool. ranchos is the farthest from el centro. hope this helps. also, for what it's worth we thought the food as cs was really terrible, and we have stayed there before. i am trying to figure out another moderate where the food might be better. if anyone has suggestions, please let me know.

Rest were well answered. Our best bus service of those has been CSR.

- Cabins are spread out but they are in a number of loops. Each loop isn't too bad.
- They share with the campsites ...
- You can request close to a bus stop so not too long a walk BUT ....
that bus only serves inside the resort. If you are going to MK you will need to get off and travel to the dock and catch a boat. If you are going to any of the other parks the bus will take you to outpost where you check-in and you will have to transfer to another bus to parks.
- It's not a normal resort, it is a campground. There is a check-in at front parking lot and you'd have no reason to return there. There is a building that houses the gift shop/food store that is centrally located you would need to take a bus there. Food is mostly table service but you have a few options. I suggest before you book there to seriously do your research to see if it is manageable. You can get info on the Camping forum as well about it.

We love the Cabins themselves but not the campground. It's a VERY NICE campground, but it's still a campground. We don't like the spread out nature and the lack of just walking quickly down to the food court or pool. We hate the bus and transportation and ended up driving everywhere but MK.

At CSR, as long as you're close to a bus stop, it doesn't matter so much if you're super close to El Centro. The buses work as an internal transportation system. The park bus routine is to stop first at #2, then #3, #4, and finally #1 (El Centro). The Disney Springs buses are the opposite. Once you know this, you're good - you can get on just about any bus and it will take you to El Centro pretty quickly. Same thing to get back to your particular area of the hotel.

Also, no matter where you go, there will probably be at least one time that a bus doesn't arrive as soon as you want it to. We consistently had poor busing experiences at POR (the worst was arriving at an ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern more than an hour late - they luckily were merciful and took us in anyway), but I have seen time and again that many DIS posters say that POR has great bus service. We experienced exceptionally great bus service at CSR, but I've seen people here on the DIS complain about it. No matter what, your mileage will vary. Hope for the best, and plan for the worst. Hopefully you'll have no issues!

I'm surprised to hear about some of the bad bus experiences. It's been a while since I've been down, so either the bus system got worse, or I just had a very good experience.

Not kidding. They removed all 6 buildings in Barbados and 3 buildings in Martinique to make room for the new DVC tower, Riviera Resort. It's supposed to open by this time next year.
OOPS! ha ha ha. I forgot about that. :teeth:  Dont i feel stupid.
