I am new to the boards, although I have been coming here for a couple of months. I am going to DW in April 2005 with my dh and 2 1/2 yr dd, we want to stay at either CBR or CSR. I need some opinions on which ones have the best rooms, service, transportation, food areas, etc. thanks

Welcome to the DIS, Nikkistevej!

I have stayed at all of the moderates. Out of the CBR and the CSR, I prefer the CBR. Both are beautiful resorts, and I'm sure that you'd be happy at either of them. They each have their pros and cons. Both are beautifully landscaped, and have great pools.

The main things I didn't like about the CSR is the way the food court is run (they have hosts who seat you, will get your drinks, and clear the table for you--for this service, 10% is tacked onto your bill), and I also found that the rooms aren't as soundproof as they are at the other moderate resorts (I find that to be the case in most of the newer resorts I have stayed at--thin walls). Those things may not matter to some people, but they are big enough to me to make me choose another resort.

As for the CBR, I think this resort is much too big. If you chose this resort, I'd avoid staying in Trinidad South--it's just too far away from the Food Court and the main pool. I also don't like that the guest services desk isn't really convienent to get to if you need them for something.

Hope that helps! I'm sure you'll be happy wherever you stay :)

Both resorts are nice. I like the theming better at CBR. Unless you are in Trinidad South the walking is not bad at CBR.

You might want to check out the CBR thread listed below along with my website of pictures from CBR.

You will have a great time at either resort.

Out of those two I'd probably chose CSR, but is there a reason you aren't considering POR/POFQ? Those are by far my favorite moderates.

We stayed at CBR and loved it. I've heard the CSR is a big convention resort. Maybe something to think about.

I know some would disagree, but I did not care for the Pepper Market at all. Food was lousy, they added a 10% surcharge to everything and we felt like we were sitting in a fenced off portion of a huge lobby. The ticket stamping method also makes it easy to lose track of what you're spending...which could be their goal. ;)

I stayed at CBR for 2 nights on my last trip and wanted to move on my first day. I really did not care for this resort at all. I found it way too spread out for my taste, did not like having to walk across a dimly lit parking lot at night to get from the bus stop to my room, check-in was too unorganized and too much more.

I would have to vote for POFQ, hands down. This is a great resort! It's small and compact, so no matter which building you are in, it is a very quick walk to get everywhere. There is only one bus stop, the pool is great and so is the staff.

I enjoyed the Coronado Springs resort (cabanas) very much. Did not find the walls thin in the least (and we had neighbors). There was a convention, but we only saw conventioneers when we went to the Peppermarket, and even then it wasn't an issue.

I will say I didn't care much for the Pepper Market.

Still, I loved the location -- CSR is a bit off by itself, and close to the highway for quick access to the parks. I found this a big advantage -- forget the name of the windy road that has all the resorts on it, but I would hate to drive that at night when I was tired (even during the day it was tedious). With CSR, you zip off your exit, and you're practically back at the room.

Loved CSR and will absolutely be going back.
We were there during multiple conventions and you would never know it by how they layed it out. Also, because they are busy with their convention, the pool etc was not busy. When we went to Pepper Market we got our own table and drinks and removed the tip. Not a problem. Food was very good.

Be sure to check Buzz's website.

Loved POR, went back several times and will go back again. I can't think of a negative other than buses get crowded, but we took care of that by always loading at the first stop.

Will not be going back to CBR.
