Hello! We are planning another trip to WDW for September 27-October 9 2012. We stayed at POP and loved it, most likely will stay there again, BUT are considering a moderate resort just to try something different. While we were there, we took the boat from DTD to French Quarter and then a bus to MK. We walked around the grounds of FQ and thought it was gorgeous. Any thoughts on that resort? Do most of the moderate resorts share buses to the parks? Any other recommendations on moderate resorts? Its a long way off...but I love the planning stages! Also, if we book a value resort with the free QS dining, and then want to change resorts to a moderate, can we keep the QS plan, or do we automatically get upgraded to the regular dining? We loved the QS dining and wouldn't want to do it any other way (don't want to have to make reservations)!:)

Port Orleans is a wonderful resort and the best mod as far as I'm concerned. I do, however, enjoy Riverside better than FQ. Riverside has better bus stops/boat stop and the food court and TS restaurant is better. (I don't think FQ has a table service) FQ is much smaller, but I like the theming and general layout better at Riverside.

I've stayed at POFQ x4, POR x1, CSR x1, and CBR x2. I've liked them all for different reasons. When I consider the transportation I always consider where we will be spending the most time and choose a resort that is closest. For instance my 22 y/o daughter and i just did a few days at food and wine so we stayed at cbr and had a really quick ride back and forth. I've had the most stays at pofq and I like that there is only one bus stop. depending on the time of year etc... they sometimes share bus transportation with POR especially on the return rides from the parks to the resort at the end of the evenings. I don't think you'll be disappointed with any of the resorts.
