Moderate Resort Selection

My first choice - CSR - is booked for April 08.
I got excited about staying at CBR until I heard the pool will be under renovation. I was going to get a preferred room so we would be walking distance to both the restaurant and kiddie pool).

Do we stay here anyway or switch to POR or POFQ?

CBR is closer to MK and AK where we expect to spend most of our time. The PO's are 3 miles further away from these parks. I know, not a huge difference, but my husband might want to go back to hotel mid-day for a nap. And I don't know where my dad, who walks very, very slowly, might be at any time.

How long might the bus ride really be from PO to MK or AK? It is so hard to figure out - the bus goes to both POR and POFQ, there are numerous bus stops at each resort, then the drive.

If I switch to a PO do I want a preferred location?

POFQ would be great for your dad because of its small size. That's where I stay when I take my Mom. The ride to MK is only about 10 minutes or so--its pretty close. I'm not sure about AK, but it's really not that far. I know I'm being really helpful here! Anyway, I really like POFQ and think you should give it a try.

I would keep trying to get CSR!! Just because it is booked, being a convention resort many rooms are released back to the public after the convention "book by" date passes. Keep trying if that is what you really want.

Question is do you have small children? If not, then the pool being closed at CBR shouldn't be too much of an issue considering there are the nice smaller pools in each section. I may be biased since I stay at this resort everytime we go (spending Honeymoon there in 1 month!!!) and have never cared to visit the larger pool bc of all the kids (no children for us!! - yet at least!!). I love CBR. POR and PORFQ sound great too, don't get me wrong, I just love the atmosphere at CBR and have never had a bad experience.

you cant go wrong with all three, but I stayed at the CBR and enjoyed the stay without the pools.

PO's are actually closer to MK than CBR. The extra mileage to AK is not enough to sway my decision, you are talking about a few minutes on a bus. The lack of amenities without a considerable discount to my room is going to affect my decision. It's not just the amenities are gone, but there is construction going on. Not for me.

Keep calling! There's a very good chance that something may become available. In the meantime, if you want a package that includes the DDP, I would book something at Port Orleans. If you don't want the DDP, then I would definitely book the Swan or Dolphin-I pefer the swan. Great prices and really nice hotels.
