I'm planning a last minute trip March 21-25 for just me and my 11 year-old son (first visit for both of us). I originally booked CBR when I thought we might have another adult along to have the 5th sleeper option, but now that it is just the two of us, I'm considering other option.

We only have 3 park days (still deciding which parks but definitely MK/Epcot). Having a water slide at the pool would be a plus and I prefer to have a quiet room if possible as I'm a super light sleeper. We will likely take hotel breaks each afternoon of our park days.

Considering:
-Keeping CBR - has the Skyliner and the food options from what I've seen online (I'm vegan and they have a few different plant-based options)
-POFQ - about the same price as CBR (onsite beignets a plus, but we likely wouldn't take advantage of the boat to Disney Springs since it is such a short trip)
-POR - same price as CBR
-Coronado Springs - Standard room is $50 less a night than CBR, or could do Tower for only about $10 more/nt.
-Pop Century - I don't love the theming from the pictures, but has Skyliner and would be about the same prices as a stand room at CS.
-All Stars - maybe Movies or Music?

Would appreciate any input. How worth it is it to stay somewhere with the Skyliner? And what is the appeal of the Gran Destino Tower at CS (nicer rooms? other perks?)

Thanks!

The skyliner is so worth it to go to HS and EPCOT. I always stay at Pop. I don't like how spread out CBR is and I don't like the internal bus loop at the moderate resorts to go to the parks. At Pop you get in a que for the parks and when the skyliner goes down, there are buses for EPCOT and HS.

Values do not have slides and for me other than AoA or AllStar Sports have blah pools. If you are doing pool time I'd factor that. If POP does not appeal visually then none of the values will appeal. They are pretty similar.

With so little time I wouldn't be going to Disney Springs at all except for maybe grabbing a meal. It is legit a very pretty mall with upscale dining.

The Skyliner is of no use for MK so not sure I would factor that in unless I were adding DHS.

If in the budget I'd likely pick CSR Tower or even a standard room for the extra $50 a day for food or souvenirs. We've stayed in each section and love Ranchos. But next trip I'd love to try the tower. The pool there is GREAT with one of the biggest slides on property. It is geared more for adults so we always find it to be the quietest moderate. Check the menus, there are quite a few dining options there and a nice market.

In your situation, I would likely stay with CBR if HS winds up being your third park day The Skyliner is a huge plus for Epcot, and if you go to HS, that's 2/3 of your trip that could be used on Skyliner instead of buses. CBR also has a nice pool and waterslide. If you don't need the 5th sleeper anymore, you might be able to get a slightly cheaper room there than what you have currently, too.

Pop is more of a motel-style setup, so if you're worried about noise/sleeping, you're more likely to deal with people walking along outside your room than at CBR where things are a bit more spread out.

Totally agree!!!!

Is there even availability to switch resorts now? Late March is getting into a lot of Spring Breaks and I've heard people having difficulty booking. I think I'd just stay with what you have booked. CBR has a great pool and transportation options other than just bussing to EP.

I'd go CSR. The pool is great, there are loads of food options. I'm not sure about the tower as I've never stayed there, I can usually get a room at Swan/Dolphin for the same as the Tower and I can walk to two parks from there. As far as the buses at CSR. It is very close to both Epcot and HS, so the bus ride is 8 min. tops. You are going to have to bus to MK no matter where you stay with your choices. I'm not a huge fan of the sky liner, not a popular opinion around here but there it is. I actually pay more sometimes to not stay in a sky liner resort.

Tower at Coronado is nice. It’s deluxe like with indoor room entrances. Plus multiple dining options plus it’s a convention hotel so not likely to have a group of cheerleaders or dance squads that you could get at the values. Skyliner is nice but if you’re not going to HS and Epcot it doesn’t help.

All of the resorts I listed still have availability (with current spring discounts no less) right now. CBR is booked but we already have the reservation there. The only bummer about that is we can't switch to a slightly cheaper room since we don't need the 5th sleeper.

I'm guessing we will end up visiting both Epcot and HS, so the Skyliner is appealing for sure.

Yeah if you’re going to HS I’d definitely stay with CBR. Plus the pool is way more kid friendly.

I think you'll both really like CBR...the pool is awesome for that age, and the skyliner is amazing.

The appeal of GDT is a deluxe hotel feel at mod+ prices because it has no special park access. Also unlike values or rest of the mods GDT has indoor hallways, floor to ceiling type windows, indoor access to dining and beautiful public places in the tower.

A word of warning on being a light sleeper- you might need to make friends with a white noise app. (I use the free version of an app called White Noise on my phone.) Disney rooms are not known for much soundproofing.

Off your list I’ve stayed Pop, POFQ and GDT. I found GDT to be quieter although with rowdy kids nearby it was not exactly quiet- but it was by far the best of the 3. At both Pop and POFQ the noise was a lot for me and I didn’t have rowdy neighbors. POFQ AC was a dang racket every time it turned on, at both the sounds from the hallway (I was not on the ground floor either time) were noticeable every time someone walked by and I could even hear every time a neighbor flushed a toilet.
