Moderate or Deluxe Upgrade

I love how fun Pop Century is but I definitely loved how CALM POFQ was on our last trip. It was our first time trying a moderate and our decision was based on the fact that POFQ had a water slide and we decided NOT to get the waterpark tickets. We went in June and knew our little guys would enjoy the pool. We are going in March and chose POFQ again. Again we're not upgrading to include the water park. We will probably do another trip in June or August of next year and when it's soooo hot, we will include the water park tickets and we'll probably try out the new AoA resort instead.

We've only stayed onsite in deluxes. Once because we were with my mom and she chose the Poly and we wanted the extra space and the daybed. The extra money was worth it for those reasons alone, but we also loved the monorail, the fireworks and EWP from the beach every night and we spent a lot of time in the pool.

The second time was at AKL because my daughter the future vet was enamored by it and we surprised her. We spent a ton of time at AKL doing all the animal activities and exploring and in the hot tubs and pools.

Usuall we stay offsite in a house and we spend more time at the parks at less at the house. If we spend the money on deluxe, I make sure we take time to enjoy it.

I've stayed offsite (from motels to resorts) and onsite at value, mods, deluxes, and villas. I will say I prefer the onsite deluxe to anything else. I like the mods though and I definitely did not like the value. But it all depends on what you are looking for in a resort. I prefer to use Disney transportation and stay in the midst of the Disney bubble so I do prefer onsite. And we do spend several afternoon hours everyday at the pool so the pool is big for our family. Beyond that, it depends on what else we want and how much we can spend. We do love the Poly with its theming and the monorail but we will stay elsewhere as well.

It's all personal preference!
