Hello fellow disser. I need some help. My neice graduated from H.S. recently top of her class and got a few scholarship offers (yep, I'm a proud Auntie!)
Anyway as a present my siblings and I got together and offered a free trip for a week for her and 3 of her girlfriends this summer, before they all have to knuckle down at college.
They thought about Ocean city NJ or Disney. I live near the Jersey shore and hate it for a number of reasons. 1) they charge you to go on the beach, thats right. In Jersey you have to buy ridiculous beach tags to sit on the beach. 2) rooms on the beach run $200+/night. and they charge you extra for every person after 2 people.

My neice said she call disney last night and they told her the same thing about the moderates. That the room rate was for 2 people and any one after that was an additional charge. Did some thing change? I know the just announced a new pricing policy but I didn't really pay attention. I thought you booked a room at the per night rate and it occupied up to 4 adults?

Am I wrong?

There has always been an extra charge for more than 2 adults in the room.

This is not a new policy. For a moderate it is $15.00 per night per additional adult in the room. Room rates are 2 adults per room.

Congrats to your niece, you should be proud:goodvibes

Wow, I guess she really is one smart cookie! Thanks guys, never to old for an old dog to learn a new trick!

Yep, there is a $15.00 per adult per night change for adult three and four. Let me know if you need information the CBR. We've stayed there twice and absolutely loved everything about the resort.

The Values and FW cabins have a $10 a night charge for each extra adult.

The Mods charge $15 a night for each extra adult.

The Deluxes charge $25 a night for each extra adult.

The Family Suites and DVC units do not have an extra fee for extra adults.

I think (does anyone know for sure?) the other Suites at Disney do not charge extra either.

What a nice graduation present you are giving your niece.

I hope she and her friends have a great time at Disney!:wizard:

I too live in NJ and would pick going to Disney ANY DAY over the jersey shores. Plus, if you go during the value season, you can get a room cheaper then peak season and on top of that, the rooms at Disney are STILL cheaper then a room at the shore. IMO, they wayyyy over charge you for those rooms beside the fact that you have to pay to go on the beaches. To me, that is just ridiculous. Even though it's more expensive for tickets to go into the parks at Disney, I'd rather pay the hundreds to go in there before I pay to go on the jersey shore beaches!!

As kids, we always went to the Jersey Shore for a week, and never to Disney. Now as an adult, I tell my parents all the time that we could have been going to Disney all those years ago! It is cheaper!
