Which moderate is the closest to the poly?? We are staying at the poly in Sept and now my bother anf his girlfriend have decided to come as well. They are still college students so can't afford the poly and can barely afford the moderate but would like to stay close to us so we may help with the cost of a moderate. Which is close and which would you reccomend.
Thanks!!

I *think* the Port Orleans resorts are probably closest. I prefer either CBR or CSR. :rotfl:

Some of the more seasoned guests will know more, but I believe it's Port Orleans.

Lets see Port Orleans-Riverside and Port Orleans-French Quarter are approximately 5 miles from the Polynesian. Coronado Springs Resort is about 6 miles, with Caribbean Beach just a little more 6.5 miles.

Unless your brother and his GF have a car and plan on driving between the two resorts the actual distance isn't that relative. Transportation between resorts requires using either one of the Parks or DDT as a Hub to transfer to other resorts buses.

I have always found it easier to meet at one of the Parks when you have family or friends staying at different resorts.

I would suggest looking into the Ft. Wilderness cabins. If you can get a general public or AP discount on the cabins it could be a good option.

They could even rent points and stay at VWL. That'd be very close to you. Plus, they would be able to enjoy deluxe-like amenties. ;) It takes a little work and trust, but they could be in a studio for about the same or less than a moderate (for Sun-Thur stays).

Riverside is the closest. While renting a DVC unit can save money, as stated the savings is only good for Sunday thru Thursday stays, involves a huge committment of trust and cancellation is not an option.

Due to the cancellation situation, I would not recommend this for someone on limited income or unknown time committment that a college student has.

Magic's suggestions are good, as stated, the distance is really not that much difference, as the Polynesian is not the easiest resort to get to by car.

Meeting at parks, saves time and they can always go the MK, and then monorail or boat over to meet you from any moderate.

I think Coronado Springs would appeal to college students.

The one person said it right: You can't get from resort to resort. You will have to go to a park then bus or monorail over. If it is a money thing it may be just as quick to stay at a value resort.
