HI,

I have the option to either stay at WL or AKL for 3 night in a standard room, or for about the same price stay at any of the moderates for 5 nights. There will be myself and wife both 28, with 3 children under age of 4. We will be planning on doing the parks maybe only 2 days and relaxing at the resort the rest of the time. Any opinions??

thanks!

Interesting situation. If you are really planning on doing just 2 days in the parks and the rest just hanging out at the resort, I would be tempted to stay at AKL or WL. I'm not sure if you would want to just hang out for 3-4 days. But, that isn't my particular vacation style. If you do really enjoy just soaking up the atmosphere and swimming in the pools etc. then go for the 5 nights. We like the moderates. They have decent pools. The AKL does have a zero-entry pool which might be good for your little ones. But, the moderates do have nice shallow pools for the little kids. My suggestion for a moderate would be POR-AB. The bayou rooms have the trundle bed. You could sleep an adult and a child in each double bed and the older child on the trundle bed. Nice pool there, good playground area.

would you head back home earlier for the 3 days?
staying the extra time opens up the opportunity to drive to the beaches (ocean or gulf), Cape Canaveral, etc if you change you mind...

go for the 5! IMHO.....

we have been to disney 3 times in the last 3years....so this time is a more relaxing tone. we are former florida natives(tampa) and have done the beaches, just not wanting to do it this trip. Is there more things to do at the listed deluxes than the moderates? we stayed at the dolphin last time and loved it, but we wnt to the parks almost every day, so we loved the location, but this time is more of a need for RELAXATION!! its been toooooo long since last vacation and im feeling it.

If you need a relaxing vacation, then by all means stay for 5 days. How rested will you be after two days in the parks and a single day at the resort and then heading back home to reality?

Have you been to Disney before? If this is your first trip, it will be hard to get everything done in only two days.

But if this is just a weekend getaway, the Wilderness Lodge is very "away from it all" with beautiful views of the lake or MK. AKL lodge, if you wanted to spring for a savannah view would be amazing to have so much to see "in your own backyard".

But as far as moderates go, Coronado Springs has my vote for one of the biggest, coolest pool areas.

What a great "dilemma" to have!

Three nights isn't enough to relax. I would stay 5 nights at POFQ. I think this moderate will be well suited for you with such young ones. It's not spread out like the others and it has a great pool and waterslide. We stayed there when the kids were 2 & 4 and it was one of our best trips.

I love the deluxe resorts but if I could stay 2 days longer in a mod I would do it. If you stay at POR or POFQ you have access to both of the pools. And like goofy4tink stated you could get a trundle bed at POR so kiddies can spread out a bit.

I would choose 5 nights for sure. POR would be perfect for you. It's a great resort with a great pool and playground (although the POFQ playground might be better for 3 kids under 4). You can also take the boat to downtown disney on one of those off-park days. Anytime I could have more days at WDW, I would make that choice.

There would be no question for my family -we'd opt for 5 nights over 3 anyday. Our family has found that we don't get much touring done on arrival & depature day. My kids love to swim at the hotel pool and it's always fun to wander around Downtown Disney - my guys love the Lego creations.

I would do a moderate and stay for 5 days. Even at a moderate there will be plenty to do on "off" days and you will also have time to go to DTD or hang out on the Boardwalk or play putt putt (sorry, that's what my family calls minature golf) .:D

I would also do the moderate stay. I have two kids (8 and almost five) and we have been going since my oldest was 7 months old. Kids love hotels and all the moderates have lots to do. You can use the pools, there are bike rentals, boat rentals, fishing, mini golf, Downtown Disney, etc. Also, if you say use day one to rest, day two to go to a park, day three to rest, day four to go to a park, day five to rest....you probably get a very relaxing trip.

Id do the moderate for sure

POR is your best bet to fit five

and POR has a very relaxing atmosphere

I would have to say...Go with 5 nights! Staying in Disney for 2 more nights is better than a shorter stay at the Deluxe resort. The longer the stay...the more fun the family will have! Enjoy!

POR 5 nights and enjoy yourselves!!

Wishing everyone a "magical" day!
