I have two little train fanatics and was wondering where we might see some at WDW. I know about the display at the Germany pavilion. Are there any more? It seems like I remember seeing some Christmas decor photos with a model train. Does anyone know?

We leave tomorrow:banana:

Thanks!

i don't know if it's out this year, but 2006 (I think) introduced a train engine as part of the holiday decor in the flagpole area of townsquare if that's what you're referring to.

i believe there's also a mini train ride at DTD

the carolwood pacific room (formerly the iron spike room) at the VWL also has a few cars from Walt's own railroad on display.

oh.. and the yacht club (?) also traditionally has a model train setup for the holidays

That one is my favorite. The only other one I've seen was in Once Upon A Toy Store at Downtown Disney. It was the display set of the miniature Disney village. I did not see it there when we last visited in March.

My Grandfather loved model railroads and built sets all the time. He would be in hog heaven if he saw this in person. Great pics.

Also, if you go to the Yacht Club find out if the storyteller will be there. My son and I were checking out the train display and the storyteller was trying to find kids to sit down and listen. It was a great story along the lines of the Polar Express and he gave every child a silver jingle bell (he gave one to me too) at the end of the story. Ours go on our Christmas tree every year.

I thought I had a picture of it, but I can't find it - last year in front of the American Adventure in Epcot there was a model train setup around the tree and presents...

i don't have a good photo, but the train is in there somewhere

Do you mean this? This is from last year. I haven't heard whether it's there this year or not.

There's also a model train at the base of the Christmas tree in Town Square. At least, it was there in 2006 and 2007.

The Dolphin resort had a very large (almost rideable) model train around their tree two years ago.

I'm not sure how old your boys are, but my ds is almost 4. When we were boarding the WDW railroad, we mentioned to one of the conductors that our ds LOVES trains and they let ds and dd be the guest conductor and say "all aboard" over the PA system. It was one of our favourite moments of our last trip
