Hi am looking at renting mobile wifi while in Japan can anyone recommend any providers that they have used while in Japan. I have been doing some research myself and have looked at GAC,Japan Wireless and Ecconect Japan. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Paul

I was in Tokyo last December and rented a mobile wifi from Sakura Mobile:

https://www.sakuramobile.jp/mobile-router/

It worked perfectly for browsing the web, using Google Maps, etc. I picked it up at Narita Airport on arrival (they can also deliver to your hotel) and returned it in a prepaid mailing envelope. I would highly recommend this company.

with this service...can we bring our own iPhone (from Australia) and use the hotspot to access internet etc while at Tokyo Disney resorts & parks?

I know allot of trip reviews/travel sites recommended renting a pre paid mobile phone from Japan. But with emails and a business to stay up to date with...much prefer to have my own device as it's quicker and easier to check all that stuff while onthego

Yes. That's exactly what I did with it. My wife and I still rented mobile phones to communicate with each other throughout the park if we went separate ways, but I use the hotspot with my iPhone to keep up with emails.

We've reserved a mifi from http://www.globaladvancedcomm.com after reading about them on the Disney Tourist Blog. Great customer service so far and I had the option of picking up at the airport or having it delivered to the front desk at our hotel.

We just got home from 3 weeks in Japan and used Global Advanced the entire time. Our only issue with it was that sometimes it'd fall asleep and we'd have to restart it. Not a big deal at all, but it would've been nice if we'd been able to adjust that setting (we tried).

Hi everyone
Thank u for all your replies I have decided to go with global advanced communications
for my trip in September can't wait.
Thanks
Paul

Absolutely. It should work fine.

My husband and I travel internationally several times a year and I just ordered this:

http://shop.skyroam.com/?utm_source...il&utm_term=0_e3f549f381-18bf2333a9-268528645

I got 20% off for getting on their pre-order list. It costs $10 a day to use, but looks like it will be a lot easier than renting MiFi devices in different countries.
