Hi all, this may sound a daft question but if I purchased a mobile phone in the States (much cheaper than UK) will I be able to use it when I get home?
Not sure as the US is on a different frequency and their phones may only be set up for their frequency. The best bet is to buy a tri band phone here. I used mine alot in California last month and the text messaging cost the same as here for a text to go back home. I did look at getting a US phone before deciding on my tri band and the only problem is you need a US mailing address for it to be set up which may cause alot of problems if you don't know anyone living out there who will let you use their address.
I may be wrong so if anyone knows any different it would be interesting to see how it would work.
