Hi, can anyone tell me how much it would cost to buy a couple of mobile phones when we get to florida. We are thinking it might be cheaper to buy new phones, than bring ours from england and pay cost of calls/text just for contacting each other in parks/resorts. Any help please.

I would suggest doing a pay as you go plan where you buy minute cards and just load them onto your phone. not sure how much it would be though.

You might want to think about 2 Way Radios (Walkie Talkies). They are about $25 (US) for 2 and have about a 5 mile radius. If you are going to do the pay as you go cell phone, look on-line and order before you go. You will get a better discount this way.

I would definitely do the walkie talkies as Tinkbutt suggested. Cell reception can be spotty anyway in the parks.

i have never had any problem with cell reception except on a ride but if you are staying for a few weeks i would go to walmart and get the pay as you go plan you can talk to everyone on that provider without using min. so you can get a cheep 20 dallar plan and just talk back and forth and not use your min. a cell phone is always a lot better than a radio you can get 911 or info or directions but for me it would depend on how long i was staying

I would recommend Walkie Talkies if you are in a closeish range - depends on how far apart you are going to be.

We normally use our mobiles and just text each other - its not too horrendous and we are with TMobile.
