I have a credit card attached to My Disney Experience but if I want to do the mobile ordering and charge to a gift card can that be done? Or do you have to charge to the credit card attached to your MDE then pay down your resort bill with the gift card?

Yes, you'll be able to add a gift card to use at checkout. Mobile ordering isn't linked to your resort room at all; you choose if you would like to pay with Apple Pay, or continue to checkout to add a gift card or credit card.

Is that a change from the past? Before when I did mobile ordering it would always pick up my cc that was linked to my MDE. If it isn’t a change then I am not sure where I would put in the gift card info

yes it is a change. In the past you couldn’t put in a gift card.

Great news I wonder if it'll save the gift card information or if you have to input it each time

Does anyone know if TIW discount can be applied after the purchase or do you just need to pay in person?

No, discounts cannot be applied to Mobile Order. That includes TIW, AP and DVC discounts. TIW is only valid at a handful of resort CS locations anyway.

I wonder if they're working on including some kind of discount at some point because, as now, there's a link to "See Current Promotions" during checkout (currently there are no promotions though) as well as a place to apply a promotion code 🤔 I don't recall this being there before. But this is very interesting as you don't typically get discounts at QS locations.

I first noticed that "Promo Code" stuff at the same time they added the ability to use a giftcard (so maybe 6 weeks ago?). Since the line under the promo code stuff is "where's my Discount", and the link there says that discounts are unavailable, I figure that discounts and promotions are separate things. I can't see them accepting just an entered code as proof that you are eligible for an affinity group discount (AP, DVC or TIW).

But it does seem to indicate that they're thinking about such things.

How exactly do you add a gift card, do you enter the code that's visible on the back or the one underneath the silver scratch-off? And if you've got an e-gift card, is there a number on that to enter? Lastly, is it possible to add a gift card for mobile order in advance before you order or does it only give you the option after you've placed an order and are about to pay?

Yes to both --- its the code on the back plus the numbers under the silver. That equals the entire 16 digit card number.

There's a number on the e-gift cards toward the top which you can use. Called the EAN number I believe.

In my use of it earlier this month, I could only add the gift card once I picked my food and then got to the payment screen. No way to link a gift card to your MDE account.

Which Dining discount is better today? AP?
i am guessing that through AP discount the gift card can be purchased and also higher savings ... rigth?

Discounts - AP, DVC, CM, etc. - are not applicable to the purchase of gift cards.

Great to see also

i wemt on MDE yesterday and tried to place a a fake order just to see about adding a gift card and yes there is a place to add your gift card number. You can go on MDE and give it a try without actually putting the numbers in or placing the order just to check it out

I added my GC and it looked like it entered correctly. However, it turned out I was charged to my CC not the GC. This happened to me twice when mobile ordering, so I gave up lol.

I'm certain it's user error on my part, but wanted to mention it just in case there is some extra step I'm missing that might not be obvious to someone else as well that might help. (My eyes miss stuff on the little phone screen sometimes :))
