Mobile check in at Disney hotels?

I’m an “experienced” Disneyland goer and Disney hotel(s) guest, but I would like some verification on if things still work as they did before and to ask about mobile check in…

I’m planning to stay at the Disneyland Hotel for most my stay, but will transfer over to the Grand Californian for the Halloween party so I can use the direct entry from the Grand to get into the park for the Halloween party…

Previously I’ve been able to check out from a Disneyland hotel and has the bell hop transfer my bags over to another Disneyland hotel, does that still exist?

Also… does mobile check in exist AND work? Is it possible to completely bypass the front desk and instead gain access to my room JUST from mobile check in? Once in my room I assume I can just call down for bags to be brought up….

Just looking to maximize time as much as possible and I know the check in lines can get lone, especially around 2-5pm…

I don't think you can just do mobile check in. It's never been an option for me. I've always had to go to the front desk.

You can just do mobile check in. I’ve always done mobile check in for both DLH and GC and the mobile key has worked for me. I always make sure my Disneyland app is up to date though.

I haven’t been to the front desk since 2021. I even got an upgrade once which I didn’t think was possible with mobile check ins.

Our mobile key never worked, so I always make sure to get an actual key now even though I have to stand in line at the desk.

This has been our experience at GCH, although it did work at DLH.

We never got a room ready text the one time we tried to do JUST mobile checkin. We got an error message that said we had to go to the front desk. When we got there, the CM didn't see anything that was wrong or needed attention, and we found out that our room had been ready for 6 hours. It was 4pm by that time. Really annoying.

For my August trip, I am just going to the front desk at GCH Ill bypass mobile and online check-in.

Our mobile check-in worked for CL at the DLH all three times and the one time we stayed at GCH. We've never had to stop at the check-in desk, which has been nice because we can just head directly to our room.

We usually get the room ready message when we're en route to the hotel, one time right when we landed on the plane.

Being able to check in early is always so nice, and finding out it was ready but you didn't get a text must have been really frustrating.
