Mob scene last night.

As I was walking home from the train last night, I see a mob of about 100 people. There was a police car and van nearby and a few police officers walking up. What was the big event: the new Grand Theft Auto game was being sold.

I don't get it.

Personally I don't get it either. I don't care for the game at all and can't stand it when adults buy it for younger kids. I had a mom buy one for her 8 year old one night.

I do think 8 is a tad young for that game! My DS was 13 when he got the first one. He is now 16 and we both really like that game. It is a lot of fun.

I don't care so much when the kids are older. To me, 13 is still a bit young, but thats just me, I don't care if others do it. Since your son is now 16, I say whatever. At TRU I will still make you buy it for him, won't even take the $ from him, but then again, I could get fired if I did.

He can't buy it in any store around here. I have to buy it for him. It is funny though as he looks at least 18 but still can't get the games he likes. He is 6'3" and 250 lbs.

I don't know anything about the game, but the title tells me that I wouldn't want any child of mine to have it.

Oh yeah, all the kids are talking about it here, it's going to be the "must have" video game for Christmas.

I got my copy last night!!!

Let me just say that it is NOT for kids under the age of 15 or 16. The developers did NOT hold back on the language and inuendo's with this one. Liberty City and Vice City are like little kid games compared to this one. Parents beware when purchasing this for your kids.

Great! Something worse than Vice City!! I had enough problems with kids 12 and under trying to talk mom and dad into that one, then them getting mad when I told what was in the game. I heard that it was going to be thisclose to being "A" rated, is it really that bad?

I think so, yes. Just a brief example: In the intro to the game the main character is roughed up by the cops in the town, then they take his money and tell him that he's being framed for the murder of a fellow policeman. After that his first two missions involve drive-by shooting with rival gangs. Oh...and I believe within the first couple of lines he's saying to someone "Go F yourself, MF".

Considering I rarely heard the F word in Vice City I was taken by surprise with all of that last night. Don't get me wrong, I love the game, BUT I will always believe that it's a game meant for those 18 and older.
