Hi...I just wanted to know, have any of you been to "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party"? If so, how was it? Were there a lot of people in costume (tourists I mean)? I wanted to know, because I'm going on Oct. 1st-5th, and I needed to know whether it was worth going, and if I do go, should I dress up... :bounce:

I have, many times. It's really cute; little kids eat it up, trick-or-treating in the MK and all. You don't have to dress up if you don't want to, lots of adults aren't, but I'm going this oct. and I am most certainly going Le' Masquerade'! :rotfl: I mean, heck, it's one of the few times a sixteen year old can dress up around here, and no one makes fun of you for acting like a little kid! :rotfl:

i could go on about it for hours...its my favorite time in disney. and the best part IS dressing up! (and trust me if you need any ideas/tips/dos&donts/heck...a comissioned costume....im more than willing to help!) its the best 5 hours ever...you get tons of candy..and honestly if you went on the last day of the party they give you even more candy because they are trying to get rid of it...XD. there arent really any lines, and they show a fantastic halloween parade and fireworks show. all the characters dress up, mainstreet is covered in jack o'lanterns, the haunted mansion music plays on the ferry boats and on mainstreet. see...im rambling...XD. i go every year and i cant get enough. if i could go everynight of mnsshp i would. its deffinitley something to not be missed! im going the 14th...too bad i wont see you :guilty:. but if you need any help you know where to go! :goodvibes

oooh, when I was little the only place I ever trick or treated was in disney, but the past few years we haven't been able to make it . However! This oct. I am soooooo looking forward to going back again! I might have to take you up on costume help, Dollfi :teeth:. I thought about going as some kind of celtic-looking fey-creature, and either getting emerald green temporary hair-dye/spray, or a wig. Hair-dye is prob out, since mom has this fear that it will never wash out, lol. But I wanted to do something fun, and a green haired wood-nymph sounded like fun. :rotfl: What do you think? :teeth:

Well, I figured out what I'm going to dress as. I decided on Cleopatra. I'm just going too wear a regular pair of shorts and a t-shirt or something so I ca be comfy, but I'm getting a black wig, one of those gold headpieces, and gold make-up. If I have enough, I'll even spring for one of those gold Asp armbands. I figured that since this costume doesn't require much preparation, it would be something good to wear in the park. What do you think?

awwww youre not going to go for the whole look? *pout*

mmm it sounds good but consider this. a wig traps in the heat that naturally escapes through your head. which causes you to sweat more. if sweat is running down your face, you dont want it to ruin your pretty make up. so i suggest to check into costume stores or online (i can help with this) for theatrical gold makeup. test it out with water and make sure it doesnt run. :goodvibes *is a costume expert* :rotfl:

...okay. well first off. what color is your hair? im blonde and i (this june) had my hair totally pink. it washes out, it might be tinted a little, but cheap shampoo gets it out beautifully. and my mother is the same. i challenged her and said that if it didnt come out id shave my head and it did.

the only problem with spraying hair is this: sweat. if not applied properly (meaning without it being contained with hair spray) it will run. it will run on your face and onto your costume. even if your hair is hair sprayed, the back of your costume will get color all down it. well..if you do green hair and a green dress i dont think itd really matter...XD

wigs are tons of fun, but remember your head naturally releases heat and a wig traps it in. which means you sweat. like i said to kim, you need to indulge in theatrical make up. i can find you green wigs. short, long, curled, china doll, light green, neon green, you name it. i can find it.

my kind of fae or elfin creature is like this:
Mauve
Ice
Fire
Autumn
Nymph
Ophelia
Pixie

those costumes are easily made even if it looks hard. im willing to help in anything, including commissioning. most of the wings displayed on them are for sale. they also self elf ears:
Anime Style
Generic

of course you could buy the ears at any costume store and use spiritgum to attach them. the ones above are attatched to headbands.
their website is: DayDream-Artisans and they are very.very helpful.

id be willing to make you the costume. i love sewing and wouldnt mind doing it at all. although we'd have to work junk out and blah blah blah. but its only a suggestion. you have to remember youre going to be at the mk. large wings are easily hurt on rides and in crowds, so are dragging capes/dresses. shoes need to be as comfortable as possible and the fabric of your outfit should be lightweight. if you want wig sites id be more than willing to post them. i highly reccomend no white gloves. they come back black ><. also, if youre making your own i can make fabric suggestions as well. hope this helped..even a little! ><

Well, I was gonna go all out and dress in complete costume, but my mom won't spring for that. It's not like I'm going to use it just at Disney World, though because I'm going to the Howl-O-Scream celebration Halloween night at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg. I can kinda see why she won't buy it for me, though, because the costumes that are already put together are all over $30 dollars, and we have to get costumes for the rest of the fam., too.

If any of you guys have an idea as to what I could wear as an actual outfit, I would really appreciate if you would help, lol.

About the make-up thing also...I was planning on buying theatrical make-up anyways, because when I used to perform Pointe and stuff, that's what we would always use, and it wouldn't come off unless we scrubbed our faces (mind you, I was sweating my bum off on stage under all those lights, lol :rotfl: )

ooooh, Dollfi, those costumes you linked me to were so gorgeous . . . I love that look. So beautiful :lovestruc :teeth:

You're right about the wing thing, not being able to ride on rides and such, so I'll have to find some nice small ones. Either that, or some I can take off fairly easily in a restroom or something. You're so mean sending me the link to that Daydream Artisians . . . I'm going to be staring at that website for hours now, going "now how can I make this out fit . . . ?" :rotfl:

As far as hair and wigs go, I have brownish/coppery hair that is almost exactly like the Autumn fairies hair, except mine is a tad more brunette than that. If I go with a costume similiar in style to that, I could avoid the whole dye/wig problem -- I'll have to see what Mom and Dad are willing to go for, and how much money they're willing to pay for it. I'm not going all out with cloaks, gloves, and long swooping dresses. It's waaay to hot down here to wear all that stuff.

I like the idea of making parts of the costume; My mom can so well, and I'm taking some sewing classes, so this might be a fun project us :) . And yes, this helped out a lot , thank you! :teeth:

:goodvibes im glad i could help!

Lark -remember if you need wig sites, at anytime, dont be afraid to bug the crap out of me. ive got nothing else better to do. :rotfl:

Kim- i understand ^.^ i'll try and come up with a couple ideas/suggestions... ;)

:goodvibes Thank you!
Oh, and by the way, that website you posted a link to, the costumes and stuff there are gorgeous!!!
