Last year we attended MNSSHP on October 5 and it was great!! We will be at WDW this year Oct 30-Nov 6. Which means we will be there for the party on the 31st!!

Now here are the questions. For those of you who have been on Oct 31, how crowded was it? Is it worth it to go? If not, are there any other options for trick or treating at WDW?

Hello....My family and I went last year on Halloween night and it was HORRIBLE!!!!! It was so crowded, it was not fun!! Do'nt get me wrong we LOVE MNSSHP, just not on Halloween night.

We went last Halloween and had a blast. It was busy but we just enjoyed the party. I'm sure the lines are shorter on other party nights when it isn't sold out.
We'd do it again.

Worst money I've ever spent. I would NEVER do this on Halloween again. It was just wall-to-wall people.

Had a great time on Halloween '03. Walked onto things like Philharmagic, didn't wait long for pictures, there were lots of people, but we would do it again. Loved seeing the Castle in Halloween colors.

We've attended MNSSHP twice, '00 & '03. I believe MNSSHP was sold out both years.

The only place I thought the crowds were bad was going into and out of Mickey's Toontown. And the line through Mickey & Minnie's house to get a picture with Minnie.

We never waited in line for a ride/attraction for more than about 10 minutes. I've never been to MNSSHP on any night other than 10/31, but I can tell you that the crowds at the two MNSSHPs we've attended were better than the crowds on the other "regular" days we were at MK on those trips in 2000 & 2003.

This past year, we arrived at MK early, about 5pm, and got on a lot of rides before the party officially started.

Your definition of "crowded" probably depends on what your past experiences have been.

We definitely felt it was worth it!

Thanks for all the great responses. Although, honestly I am still not sure what to do. Kids 5 & 6 will want to do something special. I loved the theming for the party and the special fireworks. Oh the dilemma!

More responses appreciated. Are there any other options for the evening?

I went on the 30th last year, it was sold out and we had ball. We walked on every thing.
Do the rides first, trick or treat last, no lines. We did Epcot on the 31st and I just can’t say enough about how nice every thing was and the weather was great too. You will have a ball.

We went on Halloween night of '02, and I wouldn't recommend it, it was very crowded until about 10 pm. We waited about 1/2 hour or more to ride Thunder Mountain, and I have never waited that long to ride anything at WDW ever .

The MK looked great, and I am looking forward to going back this year, only in about the third week of October.

If I'm not mistaken, they usually have another party or two after Halloween night, like the 1st or 2nd of November. That would be a great time for you to go.

Does anyone know if I am right about this? Maybe they only have them in November if Halloween is on a Thursday or Friday, and they figure they can treat the whole weekend like Halloween.

If you don't want to spend the evening in a park, I know they have trick-or-treating at Downtown Disney and the Boardwalk.

The Boardwalk is would be a lot of fun because they have all of those performers and carnival things in addition to trick-or-treating at all the stores. That would get my vote.

I LOVE THE BOARDWALK IDEA!! Has anyone else done this? AND, any info. on whether they do have a MNSSHP after the 31st of Oct?

I don't think they will have a MNSSHP after Oct. 31st this year, because Halloween falls on a Sunday. The only time they usually have dates in the beginning of Nov. is when Halloween falls during the week.

I'm also hoping for more dates this year. We will be there Oct. 27th-Nov. 7th, and if the dates are the same as previous years, the only days we can attend are Oct. 29th(Fri) and Halloween, which are both real crowded.

If these are the only dates during our trip, I plan on going both nights so I don't feel we have to cram it all in during one night.
