We will be traveling to Disney in August with our DS who will be almost 2. I saw that MNSSHP will be happening on our last night. I've been the the Christmas party (before we had DS) and had a great time, but I'm just not sure if it's worth it for a 2 year old. I would love your opinions!

Wouldn't it be worth it for you and your significant other? I've gone to many a Mnsshp and really enjoy myself. I think Hallowishes is THE best fireworks show at Disney World. And the parade is pretty great too.

Yes! I feel myself and DH would have such a great time! We really enjoyed the Christmas party years ago when we went. If I tried to plan DS nap right that afternoon he should be able to make it to the fireworks. His usual bedtime is around 9pm.

I would do it. Love the Halloween party. That early in the season, I think I would just go for a themed shirt because of the heat.

I thought the same thing. I was thinking a cute Halloweenish t-shirt!

We will absolutely be doing it with our 2 year old, however, we also have a 12 and 10 year old (who are still mad at me for going to the MNSSHP 4 years ago and not taking them...). The Halloween party is so much fun and I think if you have the opportunity to do it, you should do it!

Thank you all for your responses. DH and I decided to go ahead and take DS. I love Disney magic and even though he won't remember the party WE will and I love the thought of having these awesome memories of him at 2 years old.

We will be there with twin 22 month olds and a 4 year old (almost 5) and will 100% be going. We took the 4 year old last year for his birthday in October and he loved it. I also agree best fireworks show of all of them.

We have been 2x first visit little man was 2 almost 3 and fell asleep right after the parade my dh and I had a blast. He did the same last year at 4 actually fell asleep on my dh's sholders during the parade. And plus side of going before they are 3 is the little is free.

I think that MNSSHP is better than MVMCP. The parade is great and meeting the characters in their halloween costumes is fun. The kids enjoy the trick or treating too. That being said it is a separate ticket. So if you will be visiting another year around Halloween maybe skip it this time and do it the next time. If $ isn't a factor then I say def go.

I'm a teacher and can only get to Disney certain times of the year. If MNSSHP happens to be in August again another year we will definitely go again, but from what I'm reading this is the first time they are having a party in August. DH and I figured we would take advantage of that this year.

We work in schools. We are going in August. People are groaning about it being too early- but for us- it means we can actually go and we are so excited. I bet it will be full of school teachers, educational assistants and staff on those two August dates. My daughter and I are planning outfits. My son may stay at the hotel with husband (4 with autism) but hopefully he will be ok to go.

Hallowishes! I remember getting goosebumps last time I saw this. With that being said, I don't love MNSSHP. My daughter will probably like it when she's older though so I foresee going back in my future.

If you are planning to go, wait until you see the weather that week before you buy tickets. Last year around that time, there was a tropical storm/low-level hurricance that wouldn't go away all that week in Florida and it ruined 4-5 evenings (on top of the normal thunderstorms). Weather is uber-predictable in August and the tickets are non-refundable...
