Hey all: My sister (57) she is going to kill me that I told anyone her age and I (53) will be at WDW 9/30/07-10/04/07. Our first vacation together since we were kids. It should be a blast my sister is crazy!! We arrive in Orlando Sunday Sept 30th at 4pm and I was thinking about going to MNSSHP but the only night we can attend in the night we arrive. So my questions are:

Do you think it is worth the money to go since it is day we arrive at WDW?
I love Halloween and would love to see the Halloween Decor but I tend to like the darker side of halloween is it real cute stuff just for the little guys?
Or would any halloween lover enjoy it?
Should I purchase the tickets ahead of time or just take my chances on getting in Sunday night if we decide to go?
I would go to Universal haunt but that would scare my sister to dead, not a true fan of the dark side.
So my finale question is since I have already paid for a 5 day MYW ticket and if we decide to go to MNSSHP I work be wasting 1 day of my MYW ticket is it worth another $50.00 to see MNSSHP? Let me know what you think!

We do live in Southern California and go to disneyland all the time but haven't been to disneyland halloween party so I have nothing to compare MNSSHP too.

Thanks
Denise

Well, if it's any consolation - I'm going with my fiancee. We're both 28 and can't wait to go. I can't say as I've been there before, but based on what I've read from most people it will be worth the trip. I'm also going the night I arrive, but also have added on a second night as well just because everyone made it sound like a ton of fun!! We are both Halloween lovers though, so I think that made all the difference for us. I think you should go if you will have the energy for it as well. Our plane leaves SUPER early in the morning the day we'll be attending our first MNSSHP. So I'm counting on having some down time at the hotel first so I'll be AWAKE for the party! LOL

Our is Oct. 28 and 30th. Let us know how it goes if you decide to go. Wish I could be more help, but I've not been to one yet - can't wait to start though!!

My concern would be timing. Do you arrive at the airport at 4pm or the hotel? The airport at 4 would be cutting it pretty close if you plan to check in first and change into costume.

If you do decide to go, definitely buy the ticket first because getting the tickets would eat up even more time even if they aren't sold out already.

You are saying you already paid for a park ticket for your arrival day, right? You know you don't need park admission on top of MNSSHP. If you have the time and you really want to go, it may be worth the extra to you. Also if you had your heart set on going to Magic Kingdom on your arrival night it is the only way.

Thanks you for replying! Our plane lands at 3:46 pm and we are staying at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club on International (Timeshare) it is about 20 minutes from the airport and 6 miles to the magic kingdom. So it is going to be a push on time. My big concern about buying the tickets in advance is if we are just to exhausted to go then we have wasted 100.00 (2 Tickets). But on the other hand it is the only night available to us to go. Decision, decision!! As far as costume go I just think we will wear witches hats or devil horns and call it a night. So do you think we can make it out of the aiport in a hour? (We are renting a car through Alamo which is in the airport) We should get to my timeshare in 20 to 30 minutes (hopefully) checking in is pretty painless, drop off the bags put on our hats and then off to MNSSHP. Two and half hours max. you think? That would make it about 6:30 pm and the party starts at 7 pm (right?). We could eat someplace in the MK, any suggestions? So what do you think can we make the party? Or should we just go to plan B (whatever that is). Let me know what you guys think? Prebuy Tickets? Do I need ADR for dinner that night? If so where to eat? Or is this just going to be to rushed? Can't wait to hear you input. Thanks for helping

As I haven't been to DW in quite a while, I'm probably not the best one to ask on travel times. I am taking the Magic Express from the airport - and people have been telling me it takes anywhere from 40 minutes to 1-1/2 hours to get from the plane to the hotel. I guess it will all just depend on the time of day and how busy things are, especially with the rental car desk. The party does start at 7 but I know they let people in around 4 or 4:30, so if you got there early it wouldn't be a bad thing. I would get an ADR because from what people have said the party nights get pretty booked up. In fact, I called to do a 6 pm at Tony's back in JUNE for October 28 and that time was all booked already. So it had to bump me earlier for a 5:15 dinner. So my answer to the ADR is YES definitely!! If you don't want to rush things I'd say try to get a ressie for inside MK. If you do DD things might get a little hectic in trying to catch busses on time, etc. But that's my opinion. :upsidedow For what it's worth, hope that helps at least a little! LOL
