We're planning an Oct trip and I would like to try MNSSHP. Does anyone know when the tickets go on sale? Do you get them through Member Services or do I have to go through dining?
Any opinions on it, BTW? Do most of the kids wear costumes?

It is easiest to purchase online once they go on sale. I'm not sure of the time frame when MNSSHP starts to go on sale, as we usually travel in December and go to MVMCP.

It looks like I'll be attending that for the first time this year. I did attend the Christmas version once, and I liked it a lot, so I'm looking forward to the Halloween version.

Is that online through the regular Disney website? Like where you can buy park passes? DO you think they are on sale yet (Seems a bit early to me!)?

Yes, through the regular Disney website. No, they are not on sale yet. The dates aren't even posted, yet

We go to MNSSHP every year and I think tickets go on sale sometime in June or July. If you visit the theme parks board there is usually a sticky at the top with information for the MNSSHP also the link for the Disney site is:

My dd 10 always dresses and is excited about dressing again this year. You may also want to consider dressing because it is a party for the whole family and I would say about 1/2 the adults dress up. I have attended both dressed up and not and I think it is a lot more fun to dress in costume. There is more interaction with the characters and CM's and helps put you in the spirit of the party! :thumbsup2

Just remember, if your kids do dress up, it is still hot and humid during most of October in Fla. I didn't take that into consideration one year and my kids almost melted, the costumes they wore were too hot. I was glad I brought an extra set of clothes with us to the party!!

Last year I believe tickets went on sale at the end of April 1st of May (It was one of the last days in April or 1st of March). You can call or get them off of the Disney website.

I am getting anxious to see the dates for this years party. I am already looking for my kids costumes on Ebay. DD wants to be Jasmine and that costume is going for original price! I guess I am going to wait until the Disney catalog comes out and just buy brand new unless I get lucky.

Last year there was a discount for AP holders for certain nights. I believe it was 25% off. I'm hoping they do that this year. (keep in mind that the more popular nights are not discounted--usually Tuesdays and Sundays. You had to buy through the passholder site.)

In 2004 they went on sale May 1st. In 2005 they went on sale April 30th. There were unofficial dates listed on the theme parks board about a good 2 weeks beforehand.

AP holders did receive a discount off of certain nights.

When they first go on sale the only way to get them is via phone. They don't show up for sale on the website for a good 2 weeks after.

We went to the MNSSHP for the first time last year. We had a discount and went on the first Sunday that it was offered, Oct. 2nd. We are hoping for Oct. 1st this year! We liked it so much that we are bringing our kids & their kids this time!! We didn't get dressed but at 7pm we bought a 2005 MNNSHP Tee Shirt for me & DH and changed into them for the rest of the night. LOVED THE ENTIRE NIGHT!!!

We are doing our first Halloween party this year. we usually go in Dec and always do the christmas one. We are excited about trying Halloween. I asked the sale date for tickets on the resort board and was told dates will be announced mid April and tickets go on sale end of April. There are "unofficial dates" on the Unofficial Guide website, someone posted a link to it. I don't know how they guess this, but someone said the dates have always been right.

I have been going to this since 2002. :thumbsup2
I have gone to the last 2 MVMCP, but I like the MNSSHP better. Maybe it's the candy.....yes, they give candy to adults too. :teeth:
I usually go in costume, but last year I didn't really (well, 1000th Happy Haunt & I wore head grear - she wore a crown & I wore a black veil).

One year I went in a Mulan costume I got at a DC outlet (the one at Potomac Mills). I had the wig too and a little girl said - "look! Mulan!" :)

Do you mean that Tuesday and Sunday are the more popular nights, or are these the nights that may be discounted?

Sorry, yes I meant the slower nights like Tuesdays, Sundays, and sometimes Thursdays are the nights that are discounted. You won't see discounts on Fridays, or days leading up to Halloween, and, of course, not Halloween night.

We're planning to go Sunday Oct. 29, will keep my fingers crossed but we'll go anyway, discount or not!
