MNSSHP-Which day of the week?

My family will be in Disney the first week of Oct. 2014. DD's marching band is going to be there on a trip. We are coordinating our family vacation around their itinerary. We will have two days in MK and one of those is band related. I want to book the Dessert Party on our other MK day which will be a family day, but want to make sure it is not on an evening MNSSHP is taking place. There are no dates out for that yet and we are quickly approaching our 180 day mark. So, I was wondering if MNSSHP is typically held on the same days of the week every year (ex. always on a Sat., Wed., and Fri. or whatever).

Last year the first week of October had parties on Sunday, Thursday, and Friday. (I'm defining the first week of October as September 29th - October 5th.) The October calendar should be out in mid to late March, which will be in plenty of time before your 180 day mark. (The September calendar came out a week ago.)

What kind of band performance, if you don't mind me asking? We're thinking of going that week and I didn't know there would be something special going on (besides MNSSHP!).

But Easywdw.com has last year's October calendar which should let you pretty easily match up the party dates from last year to this year.

Sept calendar is out there and he has a blog post with his predictions for October. They added the party to Sundays in Sept which screwed up our original plans so in Sept it is on 2 Sundays, every Tuesday and Friday. I think it changes days in Oct but if the 2 Sundays in Sept are successful I could see them deviating from last year as this is new for this year.

Thanks! I always forget about that site. Just trying to get some preliminary planning done because we are so excited! We had planned a totally different summer vacation (saying we would skip Disney for a couple of years) and then daughter's band decided to head to Disney. We had to choose one or the other and Disney won hands down!

It's my understanding that her school's band will be performing in Magic Kingdom one day and also will be attending a couple of workshops. I would assume many other schools will be there as the information we have received says "pending band acceptance" for the performance.

They were initially going down over Christmas break for the same thing, but many parents were concerned about the crowds, so it got moved to fall break. I know over Christmas they would have performed in Epcot as well, but that is not on the intinerary for fall.
