Hello all ---

First off I'd like to say you folks are absolutely awesome when it comes to finding out any and all info about Disney. You've helped me gain some really valuable knowledge to use on my last trip in Nov '02 (ASM). Up til now I've been a reader, and now I'm finally going to post my first question...here goes..

We're heading back to Disney on October 20-27. I'd like to do MNSSHP on either Oct 24 (Fri) or 26 (Sun). I'll will be me, my wife, my DS 8, DD 5, DS 3. I haven't made any character or meal reservations, or mapped out any of our itinerary yet. But, I was wondering if one day would be preferred over the other. EIther way I'm sure we're all going to love it !!! Any thoughts about the dates?

Thanks again !

Oct 03 -- POR
Nov 02 -- ASM
April 00 -- Offsite

We'll be there right before yall - Oct 13-18 at the All Star Movies! Can't wait! We're going to the MNSSHP on Oct 14 (and maybe again on the 16th). Already bought the tickets and got my PS for Liberty Tree Tavern - so we're set!

Anyway, I would suggest trying for the Sunday MNSSHP. I think it may be a little less crowded since the local children would have school the next day. But, I see yall are leaving on the 27th. Would a late night out on the 26th make it hard to get up for leaving the next day? Then you might want to choose the Friday party. (We've done MVMCP on a Friday night before - it wasn't that crowded; but we were there in early Dec).

Have fun!!!!

Thanks..Magic 2000..Our flight on Oct 27 is not until 6:30p so a late night is no big deal. I just thought that we might do another park on Friday since the hours may be later for a weekend, and save the really late night for a night when things generally slow down and parks close early. ALthough I'm not even sure the park hours will differ much From Fri-Sun. We'll see...

Also, you'll have a great time at ASM. My kids loved the hotel. We stayed at the Might Ducks section and had a great time. We only took our 8 and 5 y/o at the time so there was four of us. This time my youngest (3 y/o) will be going as well, and we had to move-up to the POR (Oct 03) because of 4 max/room. Enjoy !!!

I'd vote for Sunday, too. It tends to be less crowded.

If you're interested in having a character meal that evening at the Liberty Tree (great photo ops of the kids & characters), I'd suggest you call for your Priority Seating now. If you have PS, you can get into the park before the party starts; just show your MNSSHP ticket and give them your PS confirmation number.

I think they start taking PS at 5:00; anytime between 5:30 - 6:30 should be an ideal timeframe. When you've finished eating, just walk right out and enjoy the party!

We'll be there when you are, too, although we're doing MNSSHP on the 19th. We're at the world 16-27 October.

I guess we could do one of the other parks that day (maybe AK), since we'll probably be at MK early on our trip, and we'll want to spend our last day at MK as well.

Either way we never ate at Liberty Tree before; you would recommend it ?

Decide soon. When I made our PS for early Oct, I got the earliest available, and that was 6:10. I think everyone has the same idea.

Have fun.:D

Is MNSSHP so good it's worth going twice?? I've never been to Disney at all and felt lucky that this event was taking place while we're there. Halloween is my favorite holiday. So now you've really piqued my curiousity.

Indyanna: Actually, this is our first MNSSHP!

We've been to the MVMCP three times and we love it! It is so much fun - and we've always felt that the park was not crowded at all! We were able to ride so many rides and just the whole "party" atmosphere is so great! There are a lot of shows and special events going on (at least for the Christmas party).

For the MVMCP, we always just went for a long weekend, and it was just so much fun! This trip, only my youngest is going (the two teenagers aren't interested in trick or treating????!!!) This trip, we're doing things really slow and easy. Since two parties were available, I thought that if we missed anything the first time, we could just go again. Or if it really wasn't that busy - it would be a great time to be able to enjoy the Magic Kingdom.

I already bought my tickets just for the Oct 14 party. We have a 5:20 PS for LTT. So, we're set. Once we're there, we'll decide if we want to go again, and if tickets are still available, we'll buy them then. Although I'm not really that crazy about Halloween; it is the favorite of my daughter.

Can't wait to trick or treat with Mickey!!!!

kashdz . . Yes, I recommend the Liberty Tree. It's served family-style at your table, but it's all-you-can-eat. It's really good, and the characters will visit you at your table.

Here's a link for the menu:

If you decide you want to try this, call right now. If you later decide that it won't fit into your plans, you can always call back to cancel, but if you wait to make your PS, you probably won't be able to get one at all.

Donna in OZ...I just got off the phone and bought our MNSSHP tickets for Sun Oct 26, and at the same time made dinner reservations for Liberty Tree at 6:55. I didn't realize it until after I was off the phone that it was for 6:55, I'm thinking 5:55. Darn ! I don't want to cut into our MNSSHP time. I need to keep that date because of the MNSSHP tickets, but I'm kinda playing it by ear to see if maybe I can get a better time for Crystal Palace (need to wait 60 days prior). For now I'll keep the Liberty Tree reservations. I was told that normally as long as you have reservations, and you show up 'close' to your reservation time (in this case, maybe I could show up at 6:00p), you'll be seated at the next available table. Not sure I'd like to chance this though. I plan on calling every now and then to see if a dinner time opens up at LTT, until I can make reservations at Crystal Palace. Either way I think both restaurants will be just great.

Thanks,

I originally made my Liberty Tree PS and then had the same thought as you: it was a little later than I really wanted. So I called back the next day, and presto . . . they actually had an earlier time available.

So keep trying . . . for the cost of a phone call, you may get a time you like better!!

You'll really like the photo ops at the Liberty Tree; some of our best character pictures have been taken there. We like the Crystal Palace, too, but kinda like the luxury of being waited on instead of having to get our own at the buffet.

You'll have a great time, no matter where you eat!!!

Well, indyanna, DW and I (first empty-nester trip woo hoo) are going twice (10/3 Fri and 10/5 Sun). Halloween is our favorite holiday, plus we're treating them like E-Ride nights - any chance to be in the MK until midnight, particularly that time of year. Friday will be busier, but we're going to be meeting some new DIS friends at the meet, and we figure Sunday will be slower so we can soak up the atmosphere. Yes, it's a few extra bucks, but we'll just have to postpone V&A until next time. :p
