MNSSHP- what order do you do things?

I read another thread about the halloween party that has me curious. I know everyone is different but -- to those of you who have been to the halloween party before, what order do you do things in? We will be going to our first MNSSHP on October 19. I know I want to go get in line for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs first, then what? My kids are 7 and 10 but will be totally fine staying until the end at midnight so we can watch the second parade. We will be at Magic Kingdom the day before and we are not going to a park that morning so we can sleep in. I was reading the thread about the villian show and someone said to get a spot for that early (about 6:45) but we will be in line for SW then. I also read (I think on the tips and tricks thread) to wait until the end of the night for candy.

I don't know if there's a good order in terms of doing things.

What I can tell you is we went to our first MNSSHP last year and stood in line for SW first thing (we arrived around 6pm and were first in line for her) - only to discover she and "the guys" didn't come out until 7:30. By the time we found that out we were already invested and just stayed put. I don't think we would ever stand in line that long for anyone again! It just felt like we wasted a lot of time. Then again her line did get very long so it was nice to be first.

I think a good overall plan is to identify what's most important to your group and plan to do those things early on. Our top priorities were character meet/ greets and the parade (skipped the Villan show dd does not like villans!).

Have fun!

I wouldn't worry much about the order of attractions, you will find that for the most part everything is walk on or near walk on status. You will be able to do any attraction you want, multiple times if you choose. MNSSHP is a great way to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time in MK.

Any show or parade pretty much requires an early arrival if you want a good spot. Only you can determine how early and how long you want to wait for that perfect spot. We aren't really ones to wait much more than 30-45min ahead of the show and still manage to be happy with our spot. If the crowds are insane, we will end up skipping it.

They do tend to empty out the candy a bit more towards the end of the evening. However, i wouldn't hold off on the fun of trick or treating just to hold out for the big payday. Trick or treating doesn't really cut into park time that much and i suggest enjoying it the whole evening.

I'm still fine tuning my strategy, but here's what I have:

First--not even going to bother w/ Snow. I'm here for the villains. We're going the very first party of the year so we won't have an official map to plot until we get there.... We'll just work in autographs and candy as we find them:)

We've got the fireworks as a definite, then the second parade, and then the last villain-mix-and-mingle. Last year that was at 11:15. We'll grab a quick bite on main street and eat there while we wait for parade.

Also we'll be there at 4 (it's a rest day for us back at the fort up until then) and we'll eat over at CHH.

Yes, SW and the 7 D's did not arrive until 7:30 last year. But if you want to see them, you DO want to be in line before the party starts. If you like up at 6 or 6:30, you will be first or so in line, so you will only use 30 to 40 minutes of PARTY time to see them. Any other time and it is likely to be much more. They have historically come out for 30 minutes, then gone in for 30 minutes and so on. So if you get stuck waiting through one of their breaks, you can really sink a lot of PARTY time into seeing them.

For us it worked out really well because we had been in the MK all day and were ready to sit for a while anyway and we didn't feel driven to be off doing rides. It was a nice rest before going off to enjoy the rest of the party.

FYI: We did this twice and photopass was not there either night. My friend went a week later and there WAS photopass. Just be prepared for either way.

Interested in getting a photo like this one - if we can. Dont' really want to be in the photo ourselves. Do they do some poses some people can just take photos of SW and the Dwarves?

We waited in the line to do this one. I was taking some of my daughter with them too, but just asked for one real quick before adding her to the photo. I move pretty quickly, so no one minded.

Maybe we'll just hang around a bit and hope someone in line wants a photo of just SW and the Dwarves.
