We're going Fri. Sept. 30. The Crew DH 30 Me 30 DS1 7 DS2 4, BIL 26, SIL 25 Nephiew 5. We are not too big on crows and rushing. My touring concept is designed to flow in the opposite direction of most folks (I'm assuming, this is my first MNSSHP). Tell me how I can make it better! How busy can I expect the very first party of the season to be? I know there is a thread on MNSSHP but, I never got these answers there when I tried! Thanks!

The plan:

4:50 pm 1900 Parkfare

6 pm or so, head into the park and join the throng at Tomorrowland.

7 pm, head for Pirates of the Carabean, next BTM, next HH. During 8 pm parade hit Fantasyland and Toontown. Grab some curb at 9:30 for the 10 pm parade. Have some snacks while waiting. If kids are up for it head back to Toontown. How can I improve the plan.

I like your plan! We've only done MNSSHP once two years ago, and I remember my research told me to go toward Adventureland as soon as the party started. It worked great. That's where we got our free family picture and there was no line!

Sounds like you won't have much time to be stuck in Tomorrowland because of dinner. We got to the park early and rode Buzz Lightyear twice with no line while hanging out in the area. DH also rode Space Mountain.

Definetly continue to tour during the first parade-- the lines will be low. We did the first party last year and it was really uncrowded. Especially compared to the sold-out party we did the year before.

We found that most of the ride lines were pretty low all night, so it was never too bad. The only major crowds we really encountered were in Tomorrowland between 6-7pm.

The only thing that may go wrong-- if you want front row seating for the parade you're going to need more than 1/2 hour. It's possible if you go over near Splash (no seating) you may be able to show up about 30 minutes early and get a good spot. However, we always do Main Street (the parade will start on Main at night). Even though the crowds were low, immediately after the fireworks all the "curb" seats were gone.

Don't forget to check out the MNSSHP Central thread on this board for more info and tips.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts! Keep em' commin'. We will need to keep our eye on the time for parade seating! I worry about keeping kids entertained for more than 1/2 hour but, sounds like we will need to try. LOVE the tip about the free picture line being shorter in Adventureland. This stuff is priceless. Thank you!
