When do they post the dates for these. I am trying to decide when we are going. orginally had planned on sept-oct but now am thinking of nov.-dec. and trying to decide which of these would be more fun. I need to know when the dates are for 2006 so we can figure out when to go.

We unofficially knew the dates in April and they officially released them and sold them on April 30.

They are usually Sun, Tues, Thurs and Fri.

I love doing both (and was luck enough to do both this year!!) and usually alternate but if I really had to pick one, it would be December and MVMCP. Its just such a festive time of year, low crowds and no hurricanes!!

But the two times I've gone in October it was great, beautiful weather and crowds were also minimal.

Good luck deciding! We're going for Halloween next year!

Such a hard decision. MNSSHP is amazing. Getting to dress up and play in the Magic is the best. But then, MVMCP had a great stage show. All the decorations and costume changes for the MK streetmosphere and trolley dancers are wonderful also. How about the Halloween party with the Christmas decorations :rotfl2:

We've been to both and, while the weather was better when we were there for MNSSHP, we prefer MVMCP and are going again this year.

Both were cute, I just don't get into the Halloween thing very much. Christmas time at WDW is just so great!! I love the snow on Main Street, the hot cocoa, and the Christmas cookies. The special Christmas shows are adorable too.

I went to both this year, and I think a lot of it comes down to whether your are by nature more of a Halloween person or a Christmas person. If could only do one, I'd pick the Halloween show, perhaps because it is so differnt from normal Disney. It's not unusual to see the park and characters decked out for Christmas. The only time you'll see it/them Halloween-y is at the Party. But in the Christmas party's favor - there is more holiday thememing than at Halloween.

I did both this year - I would have to say that I prefer the MNSSHP over MVMCP. There is just something about the costumes and trick or treating that I absolutely LOVED. Maybe it had something to do with the abundance of candy I got or just the fact that it totally makes you feel like a kid again.

I FAR prefer MNSSHP to MVMCP! I just went to two MVMCPs, and I found there wasn't as much going on. I remember walking around wishing I was at MNSSHP than at MVMCP!

At MNSSHP, people dress up so it's cool to see all the costumes. I thought the music at MNSSHP really set a mood better than the Christmas songs we all already heard a million times at MVMCP. The MNSSHP parade was so much fun, and I loved the Castle show of villains. :teeth: There are FAR more characters out and about at MNSSHP, as I only saw a handful at MVMCP. ToonTown was dead in MVMCP, while at MNSSHP it was hopping with trick or treating stations. There is a "goal" at MNSSHP - to get candy! MVMCP, I guess you just experience stuff. I just felt that MVMCP did not have enough going on that made it different from a normal park day at night. MNSSHP made me really feel in the mood of Halloween, but MVMCP didn't get me into the mood of Christmas.

It' all a matter of personal opinion, of course! Next year, I will do anything to get back to MNSSHP :) but I have no plans to MVMCP anytime soon.
