MNSSHP-Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know (from the 2009 party!)

Thanks so much to everyone who came back and posted info from the parties this past weekend! After seeing the map and the pictures I'm so excited I can't sit still!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

If you were at the party this year, where was Snow White? This is our must-do for the party. Everything else will just be icing. :)

I'm still waiting for a report on characters! If anyone who has gone could report on what characters are out for pictures (any new ones this year)?

Hi all! We are headed to our first MNSSHP on 9/25, and are soooo excited! I've looked through every page of this thread, and don't remember seeing this particular question, so I apologize if it's a repeat.
Will the characters autograph a MNSSHP t-shirt if you put a book underneath for them to lean on?
Thanks in advance!

As long as you aren't wearing the shirt, they will autograph it.

For those who have been to the MNSSHP in 2009

We need a character report, people!!! Let's hear them!!!!

What characters did you see and where?

:::::::::: patiently waiting::::::::::::rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1
OK maybe not so patiently

Still confused -- this year Columbia House, Liberty Tree Tavern and The Plaza Restaurant are not listed as open on the map. I know I read throughout this thread how people had dinner ressies there during the party :confused3

This is how it was int he past, but apparently not for this year. Personally, I'd have a big lunch somewhere and save room for all that candy! ;)

I think the TS restaurants are open until 7:00. We have an ADR for 5:00 at CP. I think a lot of people plan on entering the park at 4:00, get dinner in before the party officially starts (and while the restaurants are still open) and then hit the party by the 7:00 o'clock opening.

quick question:

I know they let you in you at 4:00 for the party. My mother, my son and I have appointments at the Pirate League at 4:00. It was the only one we can get for that day. Do you think Disney will let us in like 5-10 minutes earlier so we can get to our appointments? Do you think they might have a reservation list (like they do for early breakfast) to let people in just a tab earlier? I always carry our reservation numbers with us.

No, we don't have park passes for that day just the Party passes.

(I posted this on the thread about First MNSSHP, but perhaps would be better here)

Looking at the 2009 map, there are a few food places that I can 't place exactly (I know which land, but where in the land?):
  • Main Street: Main Street Sweets..... is that the bakery?
Frontierland: Westward Ho and Frontierland Turkey Leg (last Sept there was a Turkey leg cart just northeast of Peco Bills on the waterside--is that where it always is?
    Liberty Square: Pizza Cart
    Fantasy Land: Friar's Nook

2008 was my first trip to Disney in years, (and first time navagating MK in the dark).
I had no idea where anything was other than a general sense for SpaceMountain, Main Street, the Castle, and Splash Mountain.
The map they give out for MNSSHP was woefully inadequate:sad2:, especially as it got darker (because it ooesn't show where the rides or eateries actually are, like the normal map does).

This year I'll have a better sense, but still, in the dark, it's harder to get my bearings.:confused3
So, I printed out the 2009 map, and modified it to show where the MNSSHP operating rides and eateries are (it's a comfort thing, not an OCD thing! Well, perhaps a bit of that too.)

But, I don't know where those few places at the beginning of my post are. Anyone?:surfweb:

I read somewhere that they start running out of halloween merch toward the end of October. I'm going on the 31st, please tell me this isn't true!!!

The Columbia Harbor House and the Plaza (and CP) were never open for the party. They always closed before it began.

LTT was always open for the party and was listed on the map so maybe that is a change (if so, probably due to no characters anymore). Hopefully someone who has a future ADR there or was there Friday night can chime in with the scoop on LTT.

No. The computers are programmed not to accept the tickets before 4. It would be too time consuming for the CMs to be able to override the gate computers and check "lists" and IDs of people who claim to have some sort of reservation. They wouldn't let you in if you had 3:50 appointments; why would they let you in if you have 4:00 appointments? (Early breakfasts are different - the gates are locked for those, and you don't have other people coming in and out of the parks. At 3:50 on a party night, all the gates are open and non-party guests are going in and out.)

Your best bet would be to notify Reservations that you may be a little late for your appointment. Enter at 4 and run like Alice!!

So that means that Columbia Harbour House will be open until 7pm.
Did I get it right??

Because I thought on having dinner around 5pm.
Do you think it's a good idea? Or earlier?

Thanks!

Okay - I just went onto the Disney Dining reservation site. I booked a ressie for 10/9 at 7:35 p.m. at Liberty Tree Tavern. Not sure why they are not listed as an open restaurant on the map  Maybe the map changes in October and includes more restaurants :confused3

I certainly hope not! We won't be there until Oct. 15th. I was just recently able to purchase a t-shirt from Disney leftover from their Star Wars week from over the summer. I'm sure they've purchased plenty of Halloween merchandise. Disney has never made it impossible for me to spend my vacation money. lol

At one time I had a Liberty Tavern ADR for 8:30 p.m. on 9/29, but when I realized it was the night of the party I canceled it. I would assume it's open though since I had a confirmation number.
