MNSSHP-Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know (from the 2009 party!)

I need advice from you experts.... I don't know if a thread like this will be going when the MNSSHP tickets go on sale next May(ish) so I am hoping you all don't mind if I ask a "what would you do question." I am a big pre-planner, so much that I am now making my ressies for Oct. 27 - Nov. 6, 2010. I noticed that this year the parties around Halloween are Thursday (Oct. 29), Saturday (Oct. 31), and Sunday (Nov. 1) nights. I am just doing a BIG guesstamite and say what if the parties are on the same nights next year Thurs. (Oct.28), Saturday (Oct. 30), and Sunday (Oct. 31). I could probably guess on my own that the 31st will be crazy since it could be the last night of the event . Since those might be the only options we have to attend the party, what night would you all "guess" it would be best to go to? After reading this thread, I am COMPLETELY geeked and my trip next year just won't come fast enough!!! That's okay... all of you can call me nuts - I don't mind ! I will be marking my calendar for the exact day those tickets go on sale to get what I want just so I have the tickets!

Definitely Thursday I would think... probably all three will be very busy though...

I'm a big planner too.. already thinking of ideas for our next trip for 2010 and 2009 trip isn't even here yet

Okay, disregard that previous post. My son just told me we've gone on the 30th and we've been as late as the 2nd of November. So your guess is as good as mine. I'll ask the kids next time. LOL

I think they'll be parties the 28th (Thurs), 29th (Fri), and 31st Sunday.

There has never been a party on Saturday except this year due to Halloween falling on Saturday and then last year (Oct 4) and that was only because they had to cancel a party that they had already sold tickets for the night before and to appease those who were attending, they moved the party to Saturday.

I doubt they'll do a Saturday party again next year.

Anyway, of those nights that there might be a party (Thurs, Fri, Sun), I'd say Thursday the 28th would be the best bet for least crowded but you never know. Alll three nights could sell out. Then it wouldn't matter which night you go.

And if I may ask a question at this point that's likely already been asked and answered: My twin girls are 2yo and won't have/need tickets -- will they still get Trick-or-Treat bags like their big brother, or will the missus and I have to give them ours?...

Not at all! I wish I could do the same, but our nearest Disney Store is now about 90 minutes away, and that's too far. I'll have to live without one of those cute bags.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! Yes, I do live in a glass house with the rest of you , but my brother and sister-in-law will probably throw stones at it 'cuz she HATES planning trips in advance! They think I am absolutely insane for planning a trip to Disney over a year in advance - in fact they would probably be the ones who NEVER makes ADR's and then get mad at the desk when they can't get a nice meal !

I cannot wait. This will be our 4th year doing ghosts from the Haunted Mansion at MNSSHP. We are 6 adults, no kids. This is our favorite time of the year to head down to Disney!

We will be attending two parties this year. We will go in costume on Sept 29th and not in costume on Oct 1st

Here is a picture of us from 2007 - Disney actually asked if they could take our pictures in the studio. It has, by far, been the best 'free' souvenier we have ever recieved!

Could you switch your schedule around just for me? We will be there on October 1st and we would love to see those costumes!!

Dress as a group costume to get noticed and the more unique the better. This was the best thing we did. Dh came up with a unique but Disney group costume theme. I made them. We literally felt like stars....so many people asked to take pics with us, the CMs were yelling at us to come get candy from them, and the CMs at TTC gave us a standing ovation. It made the party for us!

Yup, definately need to see pictures, or at the very least, be told what you were!

First trip to MNSSHP! Going Oct. 23rd to celebrate 25th birthday! Have a few questions if that's alright.Before when we have gone to these parities, the crowds really didn't thin out until about 7 PM. Is that true for MNSSHP as well? I 'm interested in getting my pic taken with Halloween dressed up Eeyore, are the characters all in one area or are they scattered throughout? Does anyone know if there will be special MNSSHP merch besides the pins? Thanks, Amy
