After a full day at EPCOT, the kids (DS-11 and DD-9) and I went to MK for MNSSHP. It was a rainy night and the crowds were low. Disney did a great job of planning special Halloween shows and events for the kids, but my kids were a bit too old to be interested. They didn't care to get pictures taken with the characters in costume or get their faces painted. After filling their bags 1/2 full of candy, they didn't even care to do any more trick or treating. What they did like was getting to ride in the front cars of the thrill rides again and again - without waiting. We even got to ride in the front of the monorail with the pilot on the way back to the parking lot. Was it worth the cost of the tickets? I think so. But if you go with older kids be prepared not to take advantage of the Halloween special events and remember that it's the kids vacation, too (primarily?), so you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for posting your tips. Sometimes it is hard for me to remember that the vacation also for the children.

We were there also on Sunday Oct 21. We have no kids, we are 36 and 42, Yes, the rain
was a real bummer, but we still had a blast, rode Splash Mountain and Big thunder Mountain
twice each without getting off. I'm so glad they did the last parade and the rain finally stopped. We stayed at the CR and watched the fireworkd from the party on the 25th from our
room, they were the best I've ever seen. We left right after the parade, we were both miserable from the weather, but it was still fun, I would do it again.
