I've read through a lot of the big thread, but I have a few questions. Do any of the party's other than the 31st, and maybe the 29th sellout? DH has a business conference in Orlando, we will be arriving on the 14th, and leaving the 18th. I was thinking about going to the party on the 17th, if DH would agree to it, and I can get over the guilt of going without 2 of my 3 children. DD 8 and DD5 will be home with the grandparents. We will only have DD 18months with us for this trip. Since it is mostly business, we weren't planning any Disney park time, but then I remembered about the Halloween party and thought it might be fun. Any way, I really don't want to purchase the tickets until after we get down to Orlando and have some sort of idea what the weather will be like. A few years ago, I forked over the money for MVMCP for the four of us. The weather was terrible! It rained all day that day, the special parade was cancelled. It was so foggy that you couldn't see the fireworks, and the lines at the rides were the worst they had been all week while we were there. We left the park about 10:00 because we were so miserable. You should see our HAPPY family photo!!:p Any opinions if we are safe to wait, or should I risk the ticket purchase in advance? I won't be heart broken if we can't go, I just thought it might be fun. Our 18month old is pretty easy going, so I think she could handle it okay.

Usually it is only the 31st that sells out...I would guess that you would be safe in waiting until you get there to purchase the tickets...

If you went to MVMCP 2 years ago....they did give refunds for the crazy rained out evening.....sounds like you didn't your refund....

you should be OK waiting...

actually I remember it very well, it was Dec. 17th, 1999 (DH & my anniversary) what a way to celebrate. I went to the desk around noon at the then Dixie Landings and told the CM that we really didn't want to go, was there anything he could do. He said sorry. We only went because I couldn't bear the thought of wasting all that money on the tickets, and then not going. It never dawned on me to ask for a refund after the party. I do remember some folks posting in 2002 about getting refunds because of bad weather, and Of course I thought about it then, but obviously it was a little late! :p Oh well, it just makes me a little leary about purchasing that far in advance again. If we get into town and it looks like the weather would be decent, I could just run to guest services and purchase them, right? Thanks for all the answers thus far!
