We are planning on going to MNSSHP on 10/6. This will be our first family trip to WDW so our first MNSSHP :maleficen I'm not exactly sure what to expect? Is any of it scary/spooky? We have DD7 and DS9. Do all kids dress up, do you bring your own trick or treat bag, anything special about rides etc.. please give me all info from those of you that have been. We have AR for Crystal Palace at 3:45 (only time we could get after we had to change our dates :sad1:) Our DD wants to go "trick or treat" at the MK but DS is not sure, I think he thinks its going to be scary :confused3 I haven't purchased the tickets yet because I wanted more info. How close to our trip can I wait to get them and do they send those to you or are they at your resort at check in like the park tickets? Thanks so much for all the info. sorry this is long.

This will be our first MNSSHP. What I have read you will get bags to go trick or treating around MK. Kids do dress up and they even have a costume contest for both kids and adults. Most of the rides are open. You can get into the park at 4 with just your MNSSHP ticket and MK will close at midnight. I would order ASAP. They will send them right to you in the mail. Just make sure when you get them to look at the back to make sure they for the correct dates that you wanted.

We just got ours last week as we are going to 2. We are going over my bday and so it will the best time ever. Good luck and I hope everyone enjoys going.

My husband and I went last year for the first time and LOVED it! It is not scary for kids at all. We did not see any kids scared. The characters and some CM's are dressed up along with most of the kids in the park. We even saw alot of adults dressed up. They give out "Trick or Treat" bags at the entrance and will give you a brochure and map telling you where to go trick or treating and what reides are open. It will also tell you when the Villains Parade and the Fireworks show is. They are special for the MNSSSHP.
We bought our tickets online last year and for this year and pick them up at the TTC booth. We had no problems doing this last year. Also, I would order them as soon as you decide because we saw that most dates were sold out when we were there last year.
Let me know if you have any other questions! Enjoy!!!

IT IS SO MUCH FUN!!

My husband and I went last year dressed in costume. We had sooo much fun we are going again (Oct 13-17) and we are going twice. Both dressing up again as Belle (blue dress) and Van Helsing. Should be fun!

It is the best ever you will LOVE IT!

I went last year and my kids loved it. DS wouldn't dress up but they gave him candy anyway. I will tell Disney has the best candy all name brands. We went to MNSSHP last year to Sea World on the weekend for trick or treating and then on Halloween itself to DTD for more trick or treating and Disney had the better candy even at DTD which was free.

Joining others that are doing their first MNSSHP on the 6th!! There is a thread called "Who's Going in October" The last few posts one of the Dis'ers has posted pictures of some of the dancers (think Haunted Mansion) allearsnet has a good description from last year as well as the Dis - and I've read and feel that there is a unique parade, but its Disney, so "its not so scarry" but fun!! From pictures it looks like Mainstreet is bathed in oranges and purple spotlights, and there is aplace to get a family photo, you can enter MK around 4 with just your MNSSHP Tickets, and party till 12!! That's what I'm looking forward to!

I have a dd8, we've talked about dressing up special, but need to consider the weather will still be hot, and I want to ride rides!!

I did not think it was scary at all.
All the young children I saw were dressed as were many adults and teens.
Treat bags are giving out at the gate.
I think DS will be surprised how un-scary it is.
I always buy my tix when they come out. I would think the 6th won't sell out but as soon as you know I would buy them!

Have fun!

The name describes it well; it's "not-so-scary!"

We've been to MNSSHP twice and had a blast. It's a really fun Halloween atmosphere (great decorations, music around the park, special fireworks, etc...) and if you can stay until midnight, I think you'll get on as many rides as you would in a full "regular day" at MK.

There is a thread at the very top of this page that is full of all the information you'd ever want to know about this party. Take a look, there is soo much info. :)

Another 10/6er here! We went last year whe my girls were 7 & 9, they had a blast, as did both DH and myself. They give out the heavy plastic treat bags that are about the size of a hardback book, not too big but allow you to get "enough" candy from a Mom's standpoint. As we exited last year at 11:30, there were CM's at the exit just LOADING the bags for you. It wasn't too long ago that we got rid of the last of the chewy sprees and Nerds, full sized packages too, not the usual snack size. MAybe we'll see you all there!

This will be my 6th MNSSHP and my DH 2nd! I always go on Halloween which is my B-Day!! I have always dressed up and this year we will be "dead" ballroom dancers from the Haunted Mansion! Your whole family will love it and they do give out great candy!

I wasn't really thinking of going since dd5 is scared of the villians, but after reading all the posts about the fun stuff that goes on, I think I may end up ordering tickets for the 10/6 party. I was planning on going to the MK on 10/6 as that is our last full day at WDW, but now maybe we'll go to the MK in the morning, back to AKL for swim, break, dinner, then back to MK for the party. Now just have to tell dh about it :goodvibes !

Another question: I would like to buy a MNSSHP shirt before the night we go to the party so I can wear it. Do they sell the shirts all the time in October or just during the parties?

Just at the parties

Be sure to bring your wallets(or room cards) guys! Not only do they sell t shirts, but each Halloween Party night has it's own collectible pin!
