We just got back from a week at WDW. We went to MNSSHP on 10-11 and had a horrible experience. Did anyone notice the parade started 15 min. late? A CM YELL at people up and down the street that were waiting for the parade to get back behind the white tape. She yelled at my daughter, who came back from getting some water for almost 5 min(this was 40 min before the parade was to start). She yelled cont. with an almost pressured speach making it impossible to communicate with her. My daughter had no idea what she was yelling at and was trying to comply the best she could. When she finally understood and moved behind the white tape, the CM walked away with a smug, very proud of her self attitude and ran off yelling at more guest. my daughter started crying. later she yelled at my 6 yo ds because he turned around to view the villians on stage and the heel of his foot was over the white tape about an inch. She just came up from behind and started to yell. Scarying him and upsetting him.
later she started to yell at a man because his knee was over the white taped box intended for the CM to occupy durning the parade. His wife had allready moved back behind the box. there truly was no place for him to move.it was packed, about 5 -6 rows deep and he had his children with him and like I said everyone had already moved as much as they could to comply. The CM cont. to bring different people over to were the man sat stating they neede to get security. After about 25min. and many CM later the parade started (15 min late). A different CM sat in the white taped off box with no problem. The guest never moved.

Oh my gosh, it sounds like you had the CN from H***! Did you get her name by any chance? I would certainly see if you could report her. It probably would have been better to do this at the park, but with 2 upset children in the middle of a parade it would not be easy! I just don't get people that get off power-tripping! :sad2:

Hi! We were there the same night as you. It was crowded! I thought a Tuesday night towards the beginning of October wouldn't be too bad. Was that the 8pm parade? We watched the 10pm parade and there was hardly anyone around. We got to be Grand Marshalls of that parade and then watched it from Main Street....really nobody around. Sorry you had such a bad experience. That sounds like the CM we encountered at Animal Kingdom this past Friday. She was yelling at all the kids getting onto Primeval Whirl...especially if they were standing on the rail or even leaning on it! She never smiled and looked like she just couldn't wait for the day to be done. Those CM's need a job in the back of someplace where they do not need to interact with any guests. On the other hand, we met the nicest CM at Cosmic Ray's. She was a lady named Maria who just cleaned off the tables. She saw us coming down the ramp with our food (it was crowded), she cleaned a table for us, and then saved it for us while waving us over to it. When we were done eating she helped clear our table! So nice! I prefer to remeber her vs. the Witch at AK!

I wonder though it the headless horseman was scheduled first - his time is before the parade and the horse goes up the street in lightning speed - its almost scary and I know I have seen a real sense of urgency in getting people behind the tape to keep them from being trampled by the headless horseman.

I have noticed the CM's are very strict before the MNSSHP because of the headles horseman. After he rode, prior to the parade, I understood why they enforce the tape line. The headless horseman came pretty close to one side of the crowd and was going fast.

Of course this is no excuse for rudeness by the CM's. Based on my experience many of the crowd was not responding when asked to move back. Not saying that this was the case with you but in my case I could understand the CM's getting frustrated.

Hope the rest of the trip went great!

I would hope it was just someone having a bad night/day. Doesn't excuse it one bit, but CM's are human too. I'm sure we've all been crabby to someone who didn't deserve it at a given time.

People respond more to you asking them nicely. I would understand MORE if it were an adult this CM was "yelling" at, but there is NO excuse for YELLING at kids at Disney when you're an employee. People pay a lot of money and save up for YEARS for these vacations. If a CM yelled at MY kid? I'd be in Guest Services faster than that Headless Horseman rides down the street! I'll tell you that much! :moped:

I have friends that are CMs that have worked parade. Their job is a LOT harder than most people think. Go easy on the parade CMs, they are in a VERY high stress position. Any time you've got large numbers of cranky, tired people, there's going to be tension of some sort.

And why are they putting themselves through this stress? To keep you and your family safe.

I will take the CM that takes their job seriously over the apathetic ones that don't do anything about line cutters, smokers, etc.
