MNSSHP or MVMCP?

I am sure this question gets asked alot, and I did skim through and couldn't find opinions off hand, so thought I would go ahead and ask seperately. I hate doing that knowing it is probably a common question (I am no beginner to message boards, I know how annoying it can be with multiple threads on the same topic) so I apologize ahead of time.

I attended MNSHHP in 2004 and had alot of fun pirate: - I was in WDW for the Food and Wine Festival (which I REALLY want to attend again this year) and decided to attend the late night festivites since I was there during which one of them was going on. This year, I can't decide if I should go ahead and attend MNSHHP again, or experience MVMCP. I am pretty flexible with my dates and was looking to go in Sept, Oct or early Nov - so, I could still experience the F&W Festival as well as one of the events.

For those of you that have attended both - which would you most likely do again?

For those of you that have just attended one, what were your experiences - good and bad.

I found the crowd for MNSHHP not bad at all - and I had heard some horror stories. The crowds don't really bother me, since I am there for the festivities and not necessarily to ride the rides. If I get to ride a ride, great - if not, it will not ruin my experience.

I appreciate any advice and information you are willing to offer. Thanks! :thumbsup2

I think I will know my answer to this better after my next MVMCP this December. Last year I had the opportunity to attend both and my hands down favorite was MNSSHP. I loved everything about it!! The Boo to You Parade and Hallo-wishes were outstanding!!! I would have gone two nights, if there would have been time. Plus I love to go to WDW in later October. Add in the Food and Wine Festival and I have a perfect vacation. Next trip will definitely be planned to include MNSSHP and F&W.

I will be going back to MVMCP because I am gathering there with friends - otherwise I would probably skip it. I'm looking forward to giving it another try though. In all fairness, I arrived at the party late after a day of flying and travel and couldn't get settled in to enjoy it as much as I might have. This time I am arriving the day before and also will be having an early dinner at LTT so I'm hoping for a better experience. My expectations are very high though after MNSSHP.

As beautiful as it is at WDW in December, I can't seem to get into Christmas there. Maybe it's because I'm from the north and seem to need cold and snow :confused3

Just my opinion. I know everyone's experiences are different.

Oh boy! This is a tough one!

I've done both several times and was lucky enough (due to airfare sale and free dining) to do BOTH last year!

I love them both very much and I try and alternate each year. This year it will be MNSSHP but while I'm going to WDW for MNSSHP I'll be sad I'm not there for MVMCP. :(

They both are wonderful in their own way.

MNSSHP has a great Halloween parade and Hallowishes fireworks, amazing decorations and music that transforms the park and of course, trick or treating.

MVMCP has a great Christmas parade and Holidaywishes, decorations and music, Christmas shows like Twas the night before christmas and the snow falling on Main Street and much more.

MNSSHP's transformation is more amazing then MVMCP as MK is already decorated during the day in December but nothing is decorated during the day in October. MNSSHP has the trick or treating to do that MVMCP doesn't have but MVMCP has the great shows to see.

If I really had to choose one, it would probably be MVMCP just because I LOVE the Christmas season and especially at WDW. There so much to see and do.

I've done MVMCP 4 times and MNSSHP 4 times (this October)!

Good luck deciding!

Thank you all for your thoughts. I am going to miss MVMCP this year it seems, so I am going to go ahead and plan on MNSSHP again. Although, I was thinking of just purchasing an AP, which would give me a reason to make a quick trip down in maybe December for MVMCP - we will see ;)

Thanks again! :smooth:

MNSSHP!!

They are both fun, but MNSSHP is more unique I think, the park is totally different than during the day, the characters are dressed up, the interaction with the characters is GREAT! The guests are dressed up, it is just a truly unique experience!
We LOVE it!

I've only experienced MVMCP once. This December will be my second time. But I've done MNSSHP several times. MNSSHP is my personal favorite.

However you need to think about your dates. The F&W Festival ends on November 12, and the first MVMCP is November 13th.

I have done each of these once.
I preferred MNSSHP.
It is very fun and unique.

Sorry if I'm hijacking the thread, but this question seems on topic--the descriptions of MVMCP on allearsnet led me to believe that you can do a lot of the MVMCP things during regular park hours too, including the parade and several of the shows. Can anyone confirm or deny that?

We'll be at WDW for Thanksgiving this year, and I'm trying to decide whether or not to do MVMCP. We did MNSSHP last year, and it was fabulous, but the parties are a little late for our kids, so I can't really say we get our money's worth out of them. If we can see the same parade during regular park hours, I'd probably just skip the party.

The Christmas Parade and the Christmas shows and the Holidaywishes fireworks are only seen at MVMCP until the week of Christmas. Then the Christmas parade will replace Share a Dream Come true parade during the day and you can also see the Christmas shows and fireworks daily then as well.

That makes my decision a little more difficult! Thanks for the info.
