MNSSHP: No FREE Photo

Here's my email that I sent to both addresses.

I'm writing to you to inquire about Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on the night of September 29th. I've noticed that the hours for Magic Kingdom are posted to run right up until the time of the party, which is supposedly a hard ticket event. In the past when I have attended hard ticket events, such at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Night of Joy, the park closed at least an hour before the hard ticket event to clear the park of non-ticket holders. This was a major draw to the hard ticket event. When will the park be cleared?

Our party of 8 is planning to attend the Party on Sept. 29th and were very excited about the fact that this is a hard ticket event and that non-ticket holders would be cleared, leaving only those with tickets that were advertized to be sold in limited numbers. Our party will be very distressed if we are sitting at the parades and other events of the party next to people who did not pay for the tickets to this SO-CALLED-HARD-TICKET-EVENT.

So basically, my question is this, what does Disney plan to do to keep this event exclusive to those who purchased tickets in order to participate in the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party festivities?

Absolutely will let you all know. I'll have to remember to do the passholder line also. This is just beyond belief. Here's hoping that someone just misunderstood!!

I need the passhoder line also. This is ridiculous. Really makes it all so special, huh? I hope Disney rethinks this one. I can't even imagine the crowds. And I can assure you, those without wristbands will still get to ride. If the CM's can't control those who push their nasty hineys past others to cut in line, I really don't see them enforcing the wristbands either.

Gimme that Disney number! :furious:

UPDATE: I just sent my e-mail -- thanks for the link!

surely this is all a series of miscommunications. WDW would be committing hard-ticket suicide with this reasoning.

407-560-PASS is the phone number

I just sent an email as well. I'm so ticked off. We are going to the very first party and we hadn't even planned on rides. We were going to focus on rare characters, shows, parade and fireworks. :furious: :furious: :furious: Can you imagine how long the lines will be if for rare characters if they don't clear the parks!!!

Okay, now I'm a pretty easy going person about most things. This, however, really gets to me. My family of 5 paid nearly $200 for tickets for this event. I was bummed about the picture, but that's no biggy I guess. The fact that they do not intend to clear the parks of non-paying guest does burn me. If I had known this prior to purchasing tickets I would have saved my $200. What a rip-off. I'm certainly going to complain to WDW guest relations. I hope everyone does so they may reconsider this "new" idea.

its the one on the email I got yesterday.

I'm also upset. I'm bringing the IL's for the first time to WDW since 1987 and bringing them to this party. I talked it up so much and now this! I sent an email. This is what I said:

"There is a big rumor going around saying that the park will stay open to those who are already in Magic Kingdom during the day, i.e., they will not have to pay extra to stay for the Halloween party that night. Is this true? I have also heard there would no longer be a free photo."

"If these rumors are true, then what did I pay $40+ extra per person for? I just spent $160 for nothing? I'm going to the party on Thursday, 10/5 and I am very concerned that the party will be packed from those there during the day. I thought the point for paying for the ticket was to have an event for only those willing to pay. I truly hope this rumor is wrong; but if it is true, then what are you going to do for those who paid?"

Just an FYI - I called Disney this morning to pay the balance of our room at POFQ and I asked about MNSSHP and according to her, the park is closing at 6pm, they clear the park of guests, then MNSSHP starts at 7pm to midnight.

I was asking her about it cuz DF has night blindness and couldn't see at night last year at MGM. I was wondering how dark the park is during MNSSHP and she said the lights are on, they do practice safety, however, if he had trouble seeing at MGM last year....

So, I guess that means we can't do MNSSHP :sad2:

I'm beginning to wonder if Disney has planned to close the park at 6pm all along and just did this to throw people off of complaining about the free photo being gone. ;) j/k

I just got off the phone with Disney and spoke with Guest Communications. She was of no real help because she couldn't confirm or deny what Disney has planned to do in reference to closing at 6:00 or 7:00 and clearing guest without wristbands. I did however get the following addresses from her. She said they would be able to clarify this for me.

wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

or

Walt Disney World Guest Communications
P.O. Box 10040
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0040

I'm planning on inquiring about this rumor further.

I have a feeling MNSSHP is not a profitable as they would like due to the expense of running it. Perhaps the only way they can keep the event going is to generate more income. What's the best way to do that? Let people stay in the park that can't go on the rides...that means the stores, restaurants, etc. will be filled to capacity with people just "hangin out" waiting for the parade/fireworks. If this is true, I can understand the reasoning behind it...but that doesn't make it right for the people that already purchased their tickets.

I had planned to go on 10/02 with the DVC discount but have been purposely waiting to buy my tickets once I arrived to make sure the weather would be good. Now I don't think I will be purchasing them at all. :(

Email sent, but mine was in regards to the MVMCP, which apparently will suffer a similar (if not worse) fate. Let's hope we get some clarification on this issue.

Do we take out the WWW on that email address? It doesn't seem to work or is it a website??

Yes I believe that was a typo. www should be wdw.

Sounds like quite a few inquiries have been sent, so I won't send another - but if it turns out to be true, I'll send a complaint.

We're attending both MNSSHP & MVMCP - a total of 10 tickets.

I sent my email. I can't believe this. If it's true I am very disappointed. It was going to be the first event that DH and I were going to attend at WDW. Half the reason we wanted to go was the photo. But to find out there will ve no photo and there will be non event ticket holders allowed in the park sucks! I really hope all these emails and calls wake someone up at Disney and they realize the mistakes they are making!
