MNSSHP, no costume..still worth it?

We are doing a quick 3 night trip in October. My daughter will be in the CP and we want to visit. We have never done MNSSHP party and I want to try it, but we only want to take carry on luggage and don't want to screw with a costume. Is it still worth the $67 (price for our date)?

Sure! I really enjoy MNSSHP and I've never worn a costume. You'll a pretty good mixture of guests in costume and guests not in costumes, so no one will feel out of place.

You're the only one who can really judge if it's "worth it" but I CAN tell you that in no way is everyone at the party dressed in costumes. So if you think you'd enjoy it anyway, don't let the lack of a costume deter you!

We have been to MNSSHP twice. My DH and I did not dress up either time. Our DD and DS only dressed up the first time. We enjoyed it both times. There are plenty of people that do not dress up.

Plenty of people will not wear costumes. You can always just go with a Halloween t-shirt or something (I see a lot of matching pumpkin families). The party is still a ton of fun, in or out of costume!

DD wears a costume, but DH and I just wear some kind of villains t-shirt.

Not everyone wears costumes, but some of them that do are pretty awesome. I've been to MNSSHP twice now. It's my FAVORITE time of year to visit.

We came really close to visiting this October, too, but decided to try November for a change.

Seriously, you cannot go wrong attending MNSSHP. It's a lot of fun. Great atmosphere! I cannot stress this enough.

YES, go!! It is a great party, costume or not. As someone else suggested, you could wear a Halloween themed T, or you don't have to wear a costume at all to have fun.

One year, DD went as Elizabeth Swann from PotC. DH and I didn't have costumes- he just went as-is. I just wore a regular T and shorts, but added a bandana around my neck, a single big hoop earring, and a drawn-on anchor "tattoo" and went as a pirate. I didn't need to pack anything extra, just used things I had already to put together an easy "costume".

We had a great time at the party last Oct, and none of the 4 of us wore a costume. The kids wore Disney t-shirts, but the adults wore jeans and plain shirts. We are talking about planning another fall trip, just so we can go to the party again! Enjoy!

Thanks! It will just be DH and I unless our daughter is off work and can join us. We are leaving DS at home. I've been looking forward to trying this (never been in October) and Food and Wine too!

Another vote to go! We're going to the first party on Sept. 1st, it'll be our third time The first 2 times both DS's wore costumes while DH and I just had Nightmare B4 Xmas shirts. This time neither son wants to dress up which is fine; as pp's have said there's always a mix of those with elaborate costumes (so fun to see!), regular costumes, and plain old clothes. Think we'll end up with some type of Disney Halloween T if I can talk everyone into it, though. Enjoy!

Absolutely! I haven't worn a Halloween costume since I was 9 as it just isn't something I'm interested in, but I've attended MNSSHP for the last 4 years and have had an amazing time!

The MNSSHP is so much fun, costume or not. From what I saw its about half and half. No one cares if you don't have on a costume. I've been to the Christmas party twice and the halloween one once, and the halloween one was way better (except for the awesome christmas decorations and beautiful castle). I hope you go and have a blast. Best parade EVER!
