MNSSHP...Kind of Freaking Out

So this is my family's first trip to Disney, and I don't have any idea how this works. I thought MNSSHP started later in September, but as I was double checking park hours for our trip coming up next weekend, I saw that MNSHHP hours have been added and it is starting on our last day in the parks (9/02). We have MK planned for that day and are saving fireworks and everything for that night. With breakfast ADR's early in the week I don't want to keep the kids up until 10 on our first nights there. If MNSSHP is going on does that mean we won't be able to stay at MK past 7pm??? After a years worth of planning, and checking and double checking park times I'm really frustrated! Maybe It's my fault for not realizing that MNSHHP started so early in September. At this point with Fp+ and ADR's all booked and planned out, I don't know how to rearrange our schedule if things have to change. Can someone calm me down?

Unfortunately your conclusion is accurate. 9/2 is the first party date, you have to leave the park at 7pm unless you have a party ticket.

Any chance you can buy party tickets and enjoy something special on the last night? We love the parties, especially MNSSHP.

On the plus side, party days - generally speaking - make excellent days to go to the MK despite having to leave the park early. I know that doesn't help if you were relying on that day for Wishes.

I'm afraid you won't be able to stay in MK after 7 on 9/2 without a party ticket.

Yes, MK is closing at 7:00 PM on 9/2 for everyone without MNSSHP tickets.

If you want to see Wishes and the Main Street Electrical Parade, you will have to go another night.

Also one other thing, assuming Disney's website is accurate, it appears Wishes is at 9PM 8/30-9/1, so at least that's better than 10PM if you start rearranging your schedule. I feel your pain about keeping the kids up though, that's always a struggle for us too.

UGH! I am so frustrated! like, I said, maybe it's my fault for not realizing, but I really wish they would post hours for this stuff earlier!, when ADR's and FP+'s have to be made so far in advance! After so much time and energy spent on this trip, not to mention money, I would have planned it differently. I don't know that we can swing the extra cost of MNSHHP, no matter how much I'd like to go, and now I feel like we're losing half a park day!

If I remember correctly, MNSSHP dates were announced back in March, so it wasn't just added - 7pm closing time has been there all along, you may have just missed it. The good news part of that though is that you can likely rest easy now knowing that they will not just randomly drop more parties into the schedule. You really only have three options at this point - rearrange your schedule to catch the fireworks on a non-party night, opt-out of MNSSHP and skip the fireworks completely, or attend the party.

Exactly what @megster1123 said. The party dates were posted months ago. I would go to MK on another night to see wishes etc. Or if you are desperate you can watch Hallowishes from one of the monorail resorts (Hallowishes is better than Wishes IMHO). But on 9/2 they will ask you to leave at 7pm if you do not have a halloween party ticket.

The party schedule has been available online months now...well before your FP+ window opened. I'm so sorry you missed it somehow. If you can swing tickets definitely go...it's such a great experience.

LIke I said, I'm sure I missed it. I never checked the dates of the MNSHHP because I didn't think it would be going on while we were there. The park hour calendars I looked at when I was making FP+'s and then again at the end of July did not have it listed, so it got missed.

I'm so sorry. I hate when stuff comes up like this after I've been planning for months. Can I make a suggestion though? I have 7 kids...college age down to toddler. We've been to WDW many times through the years. I never plan anything big the last day, because the kids are always exhausted. We always try to do Wishes earlier in the trip, and sleep in a bit the morning after. We are rope drop people, except for that one morning after wishes. And don't let this get you down. You are going to have a fantastic trip!!!

At this point, my best suggestion for you would to be to make an MK day earlier in the trip and take a break mid day and go back into the park in the evening for Wishes and MSEP. Your other option would be to get a ticket to MNSSHP, but be aware that you can get into the MK that day starting at 4pm and you will be seeing the Boo to You parade and Hallowishes instead of MSEP and Wishes. Good luck! :)

The 7:00 close has been there since hours came out. I'm not sure if they specifically listed the party.

Yes MNSSHP has been starting early September and you will be asked to leave at 7. But the good news is MK during the day will be less crowded. Also IMHO the fireworks are best viewed outside the park. We viewed from GF the first night and viewed it at the event in park several nights later, and I enjoyed it more from GF. Soak up the rides until 7 and then maybe do some monorail resort visits/shopping and perhaps grab some dessert before the fireworks.

THIS. You may have overlooked the 7 p.m. close at MK that day, but it's been there since the calendar came out six months ago.

Ok, Seriously, people can stop pointing out to me that I missed this. I ALREADY admitted as much. I freaked out, and was asking for advice or confirmation of what I had seen. Thank you for those earlier in the thread that answered those questions. The calendar I used when I made ADR"s and FP's said it was from the Walt Disney COmpany, and at the time I first used it, everything lined up with what was on the Disney website. I used that calendar instead of the DW website for park hours because A) it appeared accurate and was updated often. Everytime I heard that times were changing (usually from people on this board, like when they extended AK hours or put out the new EMM hours) they were updated right away on that calendar. B) it said it was from the Walt Disney Company, and C) I hate how slowly the Disney website runs on my sucky internet. On this calendar they had MK closing at 11pm everytime I checked it, INCLUDING when I made my FP reservations, and did not have MNSHHP listed at all. I did not check on MNSHHP dates specifically because I didn't realize they would start so early. I'm sorry I offended some of you for freaking out at Disney, but I was super frustrated finding out 6 days from my trip, and I did not realize that these hours had been posted so far in advance because I did not see them. So please stop making me feel worse by piling on all the responses after responses pointing out how I should have seen this. I am a Disney newbie, and as you all know it takes a billion hours of planning for this trip, and I missed something, or made a mistake in the resources that I used.
