I have only been to WDW twice, once 9/04 (with DH, DS 10 and DD's 8 & 5)and once when I was ten years old back in the summer of 1976. I just booked a last minute "Girls Only" trip with a girlfriend from grade school (no hubby or kids on this trip) and we got tickets for MNSSHP on Friday 10/20/06. I have never been to this before, but absolutly love Halloween. My question is I have been reading posts that indicate you can enter the park as early as 4:30 pm and I am confused. Isn't the park "open" anyway at this time for anyone with a valid ticket to MK? Do they close MK to "clear it out" for people who do not have tickets to MNSSHP? Will I still need to use my 2 day hopper pass to get into MK this day (not just use my MNSSHP ticker?)? Also, 2 years ago when I went you needed to have a PS or something like that, prioity seating for a meal at some places (like a reservation, but it wasn't called that). What is it called now, as I am seeing some abbreviations that I am sure mean the same thing, but I am not sure-ADT maybe?

Thanks Y'All

OK, let's see if I can answer some of your questions.

I believe people are referring to entering the park before the MNSSHP actually starts without using a "park day" on their tickets. For example, they may decide to spend a day at their resort and then head to MK just for the MNSSHP. Or maybe they have no-hop passes and are planning on going to a different park in the morning & afternoon.

Yes & No, the procedure seems to be a bit confusing this year. In the past, they have closed the park at 6 so that they could clear it out. This year there has been some conflicting information as to whether they will close at 6 or at 7. Regardless, if you don't have a MNSSHP ticket, you are not supposed to be in the MK after 7.

If you want to go to the MK during the day (prior to when they start allowing MNSSHP ticket holders in), then I believe that you will need to use your normal park ticket. For example, if you wanted to go to MK at 10 AM then I believe that you would need to use your normal MYW pass.

They are now called ADRs (Advance Dining Reservation?)

Have a great trip!

congrats on your girls trip! :cheer2: how fun!

if you will be in mk on the day of the party you will be attending, you will just need your party ticket to get your wristband for the night. the park doesn't 'close' during the transition time but mk day guests that were staying for the party were traditionally ushered to a certain area of the park while those that weren't staying left the park and it was decorated. some people don't go to the park during the day, or don't have park hopping privilages, so the references to getting in early applies to those who would not otherwise gain admission without the party ticket. technically, those attending the party are not supposed to arrive (or if you're already there, show your ticket) until 7pm but in years past, they have started this process around 4 or 430pm. the references to adr's (advance dining reservations) are for those that would not be able to get into the park on a regular day ticket but could get into the park for a dinner reservation.
i think i'm starting to make this more complicated than it really is!
the bottom line is, if you are planning to hang out in mk during the day of your party, just plan on staying and getting your wristband sometime in the evening. if you don't have a day pass for mk for that day, plan on being there around 7 pm or earlier if you have adr's. :thumbsup2

Thank you guys soooo much for the fast reply! We are thinking of getting a 2 day park hopper pass and going to WDW Fri 10/20 (the night we have MNSSHP tickets) and on Sat 10/21. We fly in on Thur 10/19, but I don't think we'll want to go this day as by the time we land and pick up the rent a car it will be around 1 pm. We can not just enter MK on 10/20 with our MNSSHP tickets at 7pm and use the 2 day park hopper pass for Sat 10/21 and Sun 10/22, right? You still need a park pass and a ticket for the MNSSHP party no matter what time you enter-10 am or 7pm (if you want to stay till midnight)? or am I wrong?

Thanks Again Y'All

It is simple after 7 pm you will need a special arm band to stay. Cast members will be checking as they do for EMH. If you do not have a ticket to the halloween party then you are welcome to stay till 7.

if you only want to go to the party on friday, then show up with your party ticket at 7pm. you do not need a separate ticket to mk if you are not going to be there anytime before 7pm, your party ticket alone will get you in. you can then use your 2 day ticket for saturday and sunday if you wish.

If you are just going for the party then you can enter the park at about 4:30pm with just your MNSSHP ticket, any earlier then that and you will have to use your regular ticket to enter the park and then show your MNSSHP ticket to stay in for the party.

Nope, you only need a MNSSHP ticket if you want to enter the MK starting around 4 or 5. If you want to head to the MK earlier in the day THEN you'll need a regular pass. Your MNSSHP IS your admission to the MK for the night. :thumbsup2

i think it's safer (more safe? ) to say 7pm since it seems they are going to work things a little differently this year. of course, the op can try coming at 4:30 but there is no guarantee that they will get in, since the party isn't actually supposed to start until 7pm.

it's worth a try though!

i definitely would NOT waste a regular park admission to get in if you can't get in with the party ticket that early. wait until the official opening time and save the park admission. :hourglass

Ok, I think I got it now-again thanks to everyone for the fast reply! I may just get a 2 day ticket (not a hopper). That way I could spend the day of Fri 10/20 at MGM, and then head to MK at 7pm (or maybe 6 pm) with my MNSSHP ticket. Then I could go to EPCOT on Sat 10/21. I guess this way I would not have to spend the extra for the hopper and yet still get to see 3 parks in 2 days, right?

Thanks again for all the help!
