This is our first year attending MNSSHP - me, DH, DS4.5. We decided to attend the party a little late and all the early LTT reservations are full. We have a dinner ressie at 7:55, which means we will miss the first parade. I have been researching and know there is so much to do and the headless horseman starts that 8pm parade. I don't think we want to miss it.
What should we do? :confused3
I'm planning on calling Disney Dining every day in the hopes that a ressie between 4-5pm opens up and maybe that's all I can do for now. That will teach me to wait until the last minute! :sad2:

I don't know how important a sit down dinner is to you but what we're doing is eating counter service around 4 or 5 and then finding a place for the parade after that. If you don't mind counter service for dinner, then I'd cancel that ressie at 7:55 and eat earlier. Either way, I hope you guys have a great vacation and enjoy the MNSSHP!! It's great!

Just my opinion, I would not want to miss any of the party due to the fact that I was eating a meal. What about a meal at one of the monorail resorts? Then you could just ride the monorail the MK after you are done. We are eating at the Grand around 4 and then going over for the party. Hope that helps!

There's no way I'd miss the party to sit down and eat. I always eat and finish before 7:00p.

FYI... the Headless Horseman rides at BOTH parades.

We never do TS during the Halloween party. There is too much fun to be missed by sitting down for over an hour and eating dinner. We always get to the MK at 4:00 on the date of our Halloween party, and enjoy the MK as the crowds are winding down. We will just eat counter service before the party and then we are ready to go when 7:00 rolls around.

My kids were way to excited about the party activities to sit down and eat a big meal. It would have been a waste of money for us. Just like on halloween can't get them to eat before, but when they get home they are starved!!We generally eat a TS lunch and have something to eat at the hotel before we leave or something at a CS in the park.
If I were you I'd cancel the ADR and change your plans to get the most out of the fun activities- your child will love the party!! Were going on Oct 2!

I agree with the other posters, cancel your dinner ressie and eat at a counter service place somewhere, althoug I suggest Casey's Corner- they have great hot dogs!!!! Fortunately I booked a dinner ressie that night at LTT at 5:20pm before I even thought of going to the halloween party so I lucked out I guess. I would much rather enjoy the festivities though if I didn't have the reservation all set.,

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. I will be cancelling that ressie. Could you help me decide what to do? Option 1: Eat lunch at Concourse Steakhouse at 3:00, then head up to our rooms (we are staying at the CR) and change into our costumes and head to MK. Option 2: Arrive at MK at 4:00 and grab a quick CS meal.
If we don't eat at Concourse Steakhouse, then I have one more TS meal left on my DP. Any suggestions? Here's what we have so far: Chef Mickeys, Garden Grill, Donalds Breakfastosaurus, Mickeys Backyard BBQ, Lilo & Stitch Breakfast. We've been to CP and OHana already and DS4.5 will not even consider a princess meal. I'd like to try something different.

What about Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge? It's loud and boisterous, most kids enjoy it, although mine said it was too loud. Concourse is great, we actually have a 5:50 for there our party night. They get you in and out quickly and really do a good steak. For WCC, you could take the resort launch over there from the CR, then take the boat from WL to MK.

We like to just get counter service right before the party. Last year Pecos Bills was open and we got dinner there.

This will be our first MNSSHP, and we're doing a lunch ADR at MGM. We'll get CS right before the party. The party is only 5 hours long...and I don't want to waste an hour or so of that eating food. Too much to do!!
