Hello,

We will be in Disney the week of 10/11 and I am wondering if the MNSSHP is worth it for a 5 and 3 year old? I know I want to go as I've alway's wanted to go to Disney during that time but not sure about the kids.

Also, what is the weather like in October?

Thanks in advance for any info and advice,

Cee-Cee

I was in WDW last October and we went to MNSSHP. I took my niece for her first trip (she was four, almost five at the time). She had a blast! She loved the dance parties, seeing the characters and going on the rides with little to no wait time. Weather was warm. A couple of nights we needed a light jacket/sweater, but during the day it was sunny and in the low 80's.

Weather is awesome in October. We took our kids last year (6,5 & 3) and they loved it. We also went 2 years before that and had a great time. It was worth the money. We loved the dance party as well. It was much more crowded this past year than I remember the first time we went. We really liked the parade.

Took daughter when she was 5, and she still talks about it 3 years later, if you have never gone I would definatly try it!!

I took my niece last year when she was 4.5 yrs almost 5.

We plan on going again this year. It's a lot of fun.

If your little ones like Halloween then MNSSHP is a must do. My son was 4 & had SO much fun! Trick or treating through the park was a blast, there were so many characters out & about and the lines for the rides were nonexistant. Even Mickey was walk on :rotfl:.

One thing that I discovered is that it gets very, very dark in MK at night. I put a glow bracelet on each of my son's wrists so that I could spot him in a split second.

We're planning an ultra budget trip for this September & we're planning on attending MNSSHP again...in SPITE of the trip being ultra budget :rotfl:.

Definitely have them bring costumes & dress up. My son wore his blue power ranger costume all night. I swear I was afraid that he was going to dissolve but he didn't complain once. The kids were all adorable & everyone was SO nice & seemed to be having so much fun.

Just familiarize yourself with the MK ahead of time if you can. Since MNSSHP was our first ever visit to the MK we had a difficult time finding our way around & consequently missed some of the party events. I couldn't even FIND the haunted mansion :lmao:.

And remember, the party ticket gets you admission to MK at 4PM, though the party doesn't officially start until 7PM. So you can attend a different park during the day & head to the MK from 4pm on.

Have fun!

They will have a BLAST! Do it!!!

Thank you very much, I saw the other posts and some pictures of this so I think we going to go. Any ideas on what nights are less crowded.

Thanks again!

We went on a Tuesday (10/21/08) and I didn't think the crowds were bad that night at all.

Definitely go! It was so much fun! Although my kids were older when we went in 2007, we all had such a great time - they loved getting candy (ok, I loved it too!);)and the parade was AWESOME! The weather that whole week when we went was a lot hotter than I expected-in the 90s (and at 7 months pregnant, I was hoping for a little cooler!) I can't wait to take DD1 there next year!
