My husband and I are going to the party for the first time. We have dinner at Tony's at 5. Given that, what would you suggest for a game plan? We would like to see the parade, meet Jack & Sally and ride the Haunted Mansion. Beyond that, no big "musts". I tried to get Hallowishes Dessert tickets but they are sold out for my day. (I was told that my travel agent would tell us when they went on sale, but she didn't and I just found out about it yesterday.) Is there a good place to try to see the parade? Should I go to the first one or the later one? I know there are different schools of thought about this. Any tips or advice? Thanks so much!!

If you want to see Jack & Sally you'll more than likely be waiting awhile, its just a matter of "when". We went last year and had the 7 Dwarves on our must do list. We didn't want to be standing in line during the parades so we got in line around 5:15 to 5:30 for a 7pm start. We had to cancel our ADR at Tony's (coincidence :) ) to accomplish this. In the end it worked out great. We were done with the M&G by 7:20pm. From then we did Haunted Mansion (a must do!!!) and Splash Mountian.......plus trick or treating. Around 8:45pm we stopped for dinner at Peco's Bill's......it was raining at that time but our seats were good enough to get a glimpse of the 1st parade as it went through Frontierland. After dinner we went up to the hub to watch the castle show (another must do) and then we got a great spot on the circle for the second parade. Got great video of it too.........just need to post it (a year later o_O)

Thats how we did and we had a blast!!!

I would like to know this info too. We have Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at 3 and then Halloween Party that night (Nov 1). Daughter just discovered Nightmare Before Christmas so Jack and Sally are a must! Going to try to show her Hocus Pocus before we go as well so she will understand the stage show.

I heard there won't be any villain mingling with guests? Is this true?

Any other 'must do's for Halloween party? It will be our first one

Is Haunted Mansion different during Halloween party?
Yes on the outside there's a photo op and ghostly characters to interact with........the ride itself isnt' different. It's definitely worth the trip through.

Getting in line for Jack and Sally before the party starts is a must! You'll be one of the first people to see them and save precious party time since you won't be wasting it in line.

This will be our first time at the party and we really want to see Jack and Sally. We were told to line up early and that only one person in the party needs to hold the line (was told this by several people). I would like to ask again since this doesn't seem fair. Has anyone else experienced this? Can one person wait or should the whole party wait (we are 4 adults and 1 child)? Thanks as this will help me determine if we will see them or not because one of the adults will be 8 months pregnant and I don't think she will be standing in line for upwards of 2 hours!

There are debates all over this board about whether or not it's proper to have one person hold a spot in line. I personally think you should maybe have two adults hold the spot and let the 8 months pregnant lady and child do other things or sit down somewhere until 7.

I'll be 7 months pregnant when we go in October so I'll probably take my 4 year old to eat while my husband and mom stand in line. If anyone has an issue with that, I'll happily sit on them.

I don't believe Disney has an official policy on this. I think most people tend to get mad when one person holds the spot and then 8 people show up and get in line with that person at 7, thus now making the line that much longer.

Just a reminder, MNSSHP is a great time to go on rides too. When we went the lines were super short. Longest wait was haunted mansion and that was at about 20 minutes. Have fun! By the way, bring a larger bag, our small bags were filled, I was shocked!

We wanted to see Jack and Sally when we were there but somehow I missed where they were going to be. By the time we figured it out, we ended up getting in line around 11pm maybe? The line took forever, and the party ended at 12, but anyone in line got to stay and wait it out so we only used 1 hour of party time waiting for them rather than getting in line at 5pm and waiting 2 hours when we could be doing other things. This doesn't work well if you have kids, but for two adults it was fine! We definitely didn't leave MK until close to 1am!

And don't forget your magic shots with the Gus, Phineas and Ezra!

I was wondering how that worked if you got in line close to the end of the party. We are all adults and Jack and Sally are at the top of the to do list. We have dinner at Garden Grill at 4PM, it will be 5:30 or 6 before we make it to MK and the line may be way too long at that time. So we might just make that our last thing instead of our first. Are they inside or outside?

They were outside right by the main entrance to MK on the left if you are walking into the park. Maybe stop by earlier during the party and ask what time they will cut the line off so you make it back in time. I can't remember exactly when we showed up, but it was probably close to 11pm, definitely not later. We were at the party the last week of October...I don't recall it being too cold or anything for being outside. I had a long sleeve shirt on, but no sweatshirt or anything. There were a good number of people behind us in line too. We had no problems getting a bus back to CBR either even though it was well after the park had closed.

I believe they have moved the Jack and Sally meet to Storybook Circus. Someone correct me if I got the new location wrong.

I hope they did. Main street is a crowded area. Can someone confirm this?

First timer too! By extra large bags to trick or treat--how big do you mean and does Disney provide them?

Thanks! I cancelled my Tony's ADR. I think that makes more sense overall anyway. We're having a late breakfast/brunch that day, hanging at our hotel and then going to the party around 4. So I think doing a QS dinner in the MK makes sense. What are the QS options open during the party?

Thank you for your response and that is my thought exactly...if I was in line for two hours and then 5 families of eight showed up then I may be just a little miffed! Also your comment about sitting on them had me laughing out loud!!!! :rotfl2:
