i have a resveration at 5:30 for the night i plan to go the party
is that too late to eat on a night of the party

I don't think so - ours (Tony's Town Square) are at 5:50 PM and the party starts at 7:00 PM. Have fun!

Here's how I look at it from a "maximum value" side:

I pay $$ amount for a Party ticket.

That ticket (alone) will allow me to enter MK as early as 4PM that day.

Since I have paid the $$ specifically for that limited time at MK, I would prefer to spend that time enjoying the attractions and atmosphere for the full amount of time they are offered.

We do enjoy many Table Service meals at WDW, but we do them on "regular" days and times when we have not spent "extra" on a specific event ticket.

Others have different opinions, of course.

so are you suggesting that we do counter service so we dont miss any part of the party
this is our first time doing this party
we are suppose eat dinner at liberty tree tavern

That's what we do.

It's just because of the special ticket... that I hate to not use to its fullest.
Not a major deal, however, if you want to have nice meal before the party.

.

We went twice last year.... I would NOT do a TS meal unless it's really early. We were at the park and ready for the Party by 4pm both times. If you want to do things like meet the Seven Dwarfs, it's best to line up well before 7 so that you can be done at the start of the Party.

It really depends on how you're spending the rest of your day. We like to spend all day in the MK, and STAY in the MK for the party. So we need some breaks during the day to rest and regroup. So we do a table service around 4:30. It provides a natural break in the day, and we're done by 6 to go stake out the first place in line to see the Dwarfs, or whatever else we think will be a long wait that night.

5:30 is cutting it a little close for my taste. If the restaurant runs late seating you, you might not get done until 7........ at which time you'll be WAY behind us in that Dwarf line......... (or whatever else you want to do!)

They (unofficially) start letting you in at 4p even though the actual party (and party fetivities) starts at 7p. And I know that many guests prefer to start the party festivities at 4p but I prefer starting my time at MK having a sit down meal no later than 5:30p. Then I'm done before the party officially starts and I'm ready to go.

That's what I prefer doing. I'm not a big 'stop somewhere and get counter service' kind of person. :)

We went the last two years and are going again this year. I would NOT waste time on a ts on a party night. I agree with robo. We made that mistake the fist year

We do a ts lunch somewhere that day so we have an easy relax day and head to mk to get in for 4 and eat dinner at a cs at 530 so we are all ready to go for 7 pm.

We are doing the party twice again this year, we can never seem to do all we want in one night. one night we will grab a cs meal-probably Cosmic Ray's (I know, i know) around 5/5:30. So we would be done by 5:30/6. On another night we have ts ressies at 5:15. So we will be done way before the party stuff begins at 7pm. We like to be done prior to the party so we can enjoy all we are paying for. BTW we also have park tickets for all days we are there so if for some reason Disney declares no 4pm entry we are still ok.

Uh-Oh.

Nearly time to fire-up the good ol' Predict-O-Meter?

Thanks to all these great suggestions, I just changed to a late lunch at 3 so we won't miss any of our very first MNSSHP :dance3:

If you're eating inside MK, you'll probably be okay.....but, do you want to use valuable time in a restaurant ? We did TS at CRT the night of the party, but we made our ADR's for 4:20 pm. we were out by 6:00 pm, so we were done in plenty of time before the party even started.

If you can make your dinner earlier, it might be to your benefit. I promise, you DO NOT want to miss the first parade or any of the party because you're still in the restaurant. The Headless Horseman's ride is AWESOME !!! :yay:

We do our TS either for bfast or lunch on party days. We like to get to the park aound 4 and do a quick CS. That way we are ready to go - and ready to get in line for the Seven Dwarfs pic around 6:30.

we do our TS for lunch the day of the party, then a CS at the party. We enter at 4, and do not leave until 12. We like to get the maximum amount for our time.

(this year I made reservations at CP for 1 pm)---so we will get to sleep in, hang out at the pool, then off to a late lunch.... (we have APs so we wont use a park day admission)..

This is how we feel too...We enter the MK at 4p, grab CS and then ride rides till party time. The few times we did a TS meal we ended up getting seated late, took awhile and ended up getting out late.

This will be our 1st Halloween Party! (And I'm so excited!!)

Originally, after reading & researching, I thought we would eat at Columbia Harbor House - quick & easy. But then I started reading where some of the counter-service locations close early on party dates.

So I made an ADR for us at The Plaza restaurant - I figure, since it's basically a sandwich & ice cream shop, that it might be quicker than other table-service locations.

We'll have lunch at WCC & then dinner at The Plaza at 5:10 - hopefully, we'll be done in time for an early start to the party.

I guess our 1st thing would be to jump in line for the 7 Dwarfs!

Sounds like a good plan to me. :)

Yes, less counter services are open and Cosmic Rays will be open but will be crazy since it's one of the only ones open.

Have a blast!! :goodvibes

We're just doing counter service (Tortuga Taven). It's gonna save a lot of time and make things much more versatile in our schedule. If you wanna do TS that's cool, but it might eat away a lot of time, especially at 5:30.

Thanks for all advice
That day I had planned to have breakfast at crystal palace at 9:20
So should I change my breakfast to a different place & try to do a late lunch in crystal palace instead so don't waste a day
Thanks or what counter service at a hotel is good
