MNSSHP Dining

I'm trying to decide where to eat, before the party. Do you prefer to eat inside MK or at a resort? Why do you prefer one over the other?

Also, I'd like to eat prior to the party, so we won't miss any of it. What time would you recommend?

We are going to MNSSHP and I made ADR's at Chef Mickey's for 5:00. We will be able to go ahead and get into MK with our normal tickets if we happen to get there early. We've been to MNSSHP but we didn't do a meal before we just spent a whole day in the park at ate counter service.

I was also thinking about this, my ds (for whatever reason thinks he would like to eat in the castle) so I'm going to try for ADR's at CRT if we can't get CRT then I'm leaning towards O'Hana or 1900 Park Fare. We will be spending the day at the resort and then heading over to eat around 4ish then heading into MNSSHP.

We are not doing a park that day so we are going to enter MK at 4 and then take the monorail for our 5:30 ressie at Chef Mickey's.

You are right to get eating out of the way before the party begins... We always eat early then grab a snack while we are waiting in our spots for the parade...

We have been to four parties.... We have found it is best to make the earliest possible ADR... We eat around 4:30... We love Liberty Tree Tavern in the MK because the characters are dressed in costumes, the food is good (not great or fancy), character interaction is excellent, atmosphere is fun, and most importantly you are already in the park... We love to get some rides in before the party starts because we get very busy and into the party activities...

Many of the resorts on the monorail do not start seating until 5:00 which is too late for us... We really like getting into the park as early as possible... Another option outside the park is the boat to the Wilderness Lodge and an early dinner (late lunch) at the Whispering Canyon Cafe.

FYI: You do not need to use your regular park tickets for admission to the MK after 4:00 PM...They let all party ticket holders into the park at 4:00 with only a party ticket....The party does start at 7:00, but you are good to go at 4:00...

Many people take advantage of this perk because it does get into the park for a half day for less than half the price.... It is also really nice to get there early because most of the rides have short lines between 6:00-7:00 as people are leaving and coming, to avoid the mass of people leaving the MK at 7:00, and to avoid the lines getting into the party.

We like to eat within the park. And we have ADR for LTT

we did Crystal Palace last fall for HP.......we had a great time.......one other time we ate dinner at noontime and then went to a cs in MK during the party..

I've eaten in MK and also at CM before parties several times. I much prefer eating in MK before the party so I'm already in there ready for the festivities when I'm done with my meal. The one time we ate outside the park (CM) we were late arriving and it was a zoo at the turnstyles.

I like eating around 5:00p - 5:30p to be done just before 7:00p.

Our favorites are CP and Tony's. Although LTT is festive for the parties, we do not like the food at all. CRT is just too expensive and we have no desire to try the Plaza.

We are eating at Whispering Canyon for lunch at 2:30, so that we can get to the park around 4:00!! The only dinner they had was 5:40, I thought that would be too late and waste too much time.

Thanks for all the input. It's fun to see what everyone's plans are. It sounds like eating in MK would be the best idea. We have been to MNSSHP & MVMCP, but it's been a long time. I don't really remember the atmosphere, before the party. We've eaten at all MK restaurants, except Tony's. Now, I'm thinking of eating there or at LTT. (The reason I was considering eating outside the park was we'll be eating in MK another evening.) LTT's party atmosphere does sound fun. Decisions, decisions. So, it sounds like the best time for an ADR is 4:30 to 5:30? Should we be done in plenty of time, if we have to eat as late as 5:30?

I hope more people will chime in with thoughts, & their plans.
