Myself, My sis, My B-I-L, newphew age 6, nephew age 10, niece age 2 will be attending MNSSHP on October 6th. I am trying to pick out Halloween customes for them. I was wondering if there are certain costumes, where they get more attention from the characters?? (like say a disney character). Are there any costumes that people have found that were to hard to ride the rides with?? Any help would be greatly appreciated?

My DS has gone to MNSSHP as Buzz, SWAT, Green Lantern and army man. The most attention he received was as the SWAT character. The security officer as we entered the park had fun with asking him for help. Chip enjoyed taking his equipment off during the LTT dinner and several characters pretended to be under arrest for him. He received the most compliments from guests as Green lantern.
My only caution is be aware it could be very hot in October, so the lighter the costume the better. We only hit it one time where is was incredibly hot, but I felt bad for the people in fur animal type costumes. That can really ruin an evening.

I've been many times. It's not the costume but more of "being at the right place at the right time."

I was thinking about the costume thing too, and rather than wearing one, I think we will all wear t-shirts that have a Halloween theme. DH and I have old MNSSHP shirts and we'll need to find something for DS. This will hopefully be OK (wouldn't want the little guy to feel left out).

My DH went in the Jack Skellington (Nightmare Before Christmas) costume that the online Disney store had last year...He got a reaction from pretty much every CM (especially the ladies, which thrilled him no end!) and characters, including the ones that passed him in the parade..Pooh Bear ran away! It was a really cool costume. He got loads of comments from guests too. Though I have to say he looked quite a well fed Jack, in comparison to the very skinny animated Jack!!!

uhhh dunno...but...do you think I can get a 40 yr old man in green tights??? He sure acts like he's Peter Pan.... :teeth: I am pretty sure I wanted to go as Ariel but I can't find big enough "clams" and I don't remember seeing stretch marks on Ariels areas!!! :rotfl: I think I will be safe and go with a fully dressed character. :earsgirl: my girls want to be Mulan, Jasmine and Snow White....uhhhh HELLO???? They are all blonde blue eyed!!! GEEESH....are there not enough blonde blue eyed princesses to choose from?? No, leave it to my 5 yo to want to be the "independent female" disney character... :confused3

My girls wore red, white and blue cheerleading outfits, so my husband and I wore New England Patriots jerseys to stay with that theme. We were able to wear our shorts/t-shirts with the jersey over them.

It was warm and humid when we went (10/7) so I would advise wearing costumes that are light, no head coverings, no makeup, etc. We saw one lady dressed in a full Maleficent outfit including makeup and she looked like she was dying from the heat.

One benefit of our costumes was we got cheers from all the New Englanders around the park.
